Credit: www.wrestlezone.comVito's dress wearing character has been dropped. His match with Mr. Kennedy on SmackDown two weeks ago was the blow off for the character. He's currently down in Deep South Wrestling awaiting a new repackaging. He's the DSW champion and he doesn't wear a dress anymore to the ring. He now wears martial arts-style trunks and goes shoeless to the ring. So...now he's Sagat? If so, he must begin every match by yelling "round 1!"

Vito took a ridiculous idea and made it work. That's why the gimmick has been dropped. Simple as that.

... Sigh. Wasn't it supposed to be punishment for something? And then he made it work? Either way, he got the character over and just like "Love Machine" Viscera got too much attention. We can't have the "wrong" guys get cheered. Right? No we can't. Because God forbid WWE make money. Right? Look, this wasn't done because Vito was getting more pops than Undertaker, Stone Cold, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan combined. This was done because the dress gimmick wore out its welcome. The idea that the WWE scrapped a gimmick because it was "too over" is ridiculous. Why would you get rid of something if it was making money? And think of Vito in this situation. Not only did the guy wear a dress to the ring night in and night out for almost a year, he had to wear it in public, too. I bet that got old in a hurry. Let him hang down in DSW for awhile, get a new gimmick, then come back up. But then we all know he'll be way too over, and WWE will fire him. Viscera stated in an interview that he was held back because he was getting too big of a reaction. I have no problem thinking that this mid-card gimmick could be cheered too much and WWE wouln't want to push him too fast. Think about the fact that he got over enough that they put him in a match with Booker T for the World title. Of course, when they realised that it would be the first CW show, they decided to put Taker in the match. Vito seemed to not mind the gimmick and it was getting him more recognition than "Big Vito" ever did.

Considering that the entire ECW roster is there only to put over Lashley, the "he was getting over so the gimmick had to be pulled" theory has some legs to it.
