Interesting that the vast majority of the negative emtions on this board are targeted at Batista, considering that Cena is (arguably) more overexposed and Lashley is greener. Just a couple months ago the board was emphatically anti-Cena, now its become very anti-Batista. Why is this? Does Cena have better workrate/matches, or is it anxiety over Batista ending Undertaker's streak?

Well my side of it is this:
I still can't stand Cena. I don't think he's good, and don't find him entertaining. But something that became very clear late last year is that while Cena sucks he does work really hard and I can respect that. Dave Batista looks like he couldn't give two s**ts about being out there. Ever. Batista is no less talented than he was in 2005, problem is back then he was the animal. He was intense, he was all angry in the ring. Now he's so timid, probably worried about hurting himself, that he doesn't put forth effort. Ken Kennedy is the only guy to drag two very watchable matches out of him since his return.
I still can't stand Cena, but at least respect him for his work ethic. Batista is just ... awful.

I don't really have a problem with him, I just wish King Booker or Mr. Kennedy would beat him and get the title. I like heel champs more than face champs--the "chase" storylines are more entertaining to me.

The hate comes and goes in time
First there was the HUGE anti-HHH period, then the anti-Cena period, then the anti-"new" ECW period...now they choose to hate Batista/Lashey.
They are probably just still holding out for a Paul London world title reign.

Did the anti-Cena period end after his bump through the table from Umaga?

theres a slow building anti-carlito hate i feel coming soon Oh yea, it's already happening. The same fans who used to cry about him getting so called "buried" every week how hate him for the rumors of him being lazy and not caring about the business.

Did the anti-Cena period end after his bump through the table from Umaga? I don't think it's ended at all really. I could start a Cena unappreciation thread (which I won't) and between the "STOOPID SMARK HE DRAWZ!" posts I'd find a ton of people still wishing he wasn't pushed like he is and wishing he was a good wrestler. Batista just seems to be a much worse offender as of late.

I think it makes perfect sense. Batista is, in some ways, the very same worker he was most of the fans were very much behind him during his feud with Triple H (and to a lesser extent Guerrero and JBL).
However, age combined with injury has noticeably effected his performances and people are ready to see him lose the title. He can no longer work a good match without being carried by his opponent, as his last two matches against Kennedy showed us.

No, no, the anti Cena period ended when we realized he was in for the long haul, and there was nothing we could do about it. Despite getting booed out of the arena, he was all over TV. Thats just disheartening. Plus, now he has good matches because he can sell. Its stil disappointing when he wins, though.
The anti-HHH era ended with him losing to Batista and taking about 4 months off.
I don't really see there being a lot of Batista heat, nothing comparable to what HHH and Cena were getting at their peaks. I think it has to do with a lot less of us watch/care about Smackdown.

Also, Smackdown has been at it's best since 2002/2003 while Raw, ECW, TNA are at or have recently been at some of their worst points ever. Wrestling fans are not in the mood for any BS on Smackdown.
