Does anyone else think that, just because of the fact that Undertaker needs a credible, established opponent for mania, thats why Batista has the spot instead of kennedy or booker? I mean, Kennedy is too underdeveloped to main event Mania, Booker T is already in a program... I dunno, kinda sad to admit this considering I love kennedy. I mean, theres no credible heels to main event Mania on the smackdown side of things.

The main event division is weak on all sides of the WWE and it's sad that they don't push the great mid-cards to the next level to solve these problems.

I think if they did Booker T vs Undertaker and than had Kennedy beat Benoit for the US Title and than wait till Wrestlemania to face Batista with the title on the line it would be much better.

They've jobbed the heels to the faces so heavily lately that they don't have any credible heel challengers to main event a Mania.
Thus they have to go the face/face route.

His name is Edge. They could have had this card instead of the one they are planing
Edge vs Taker
WWE Championship: Cena vs. Orton
World championship: HBK vs. Batista.

There is just an overall lack of skilled, charismatic heels. Kennedy is probably the best, Edge is good, but has been the top guy for the past year, and there is absolutely nobody in ECW.
Can anyone ever see the possibility of a heel/heel Mania main event ever happening?

WWE suffer from a sever lack of credible heels.
I blame that on the "80s Face Champ" booking style they've been following lately.
The face champ (Cena/Batista) is at the top of the pyramid, with a couple of charismatic, respected Veterans two steps below, then there's the Top Heel, who's already third in importance...
It's useless bulding up a good heel midcard if they end up being cannon-fodder for the Dominant Face Champion (and for the Veterans).
At least in the 80s WWF created "monster heels" with that purpose, while usually sparing the heel midcarders who got some chances to eventually step up.
Kennedy has lost to Taker and Batista for the last two-three months, Booker T (who was already a C-plan) is out of the picture for good, ditto about Finlay... No wonder WWE went with Taker.
On RAW, Orton and Edge have been more or less dominated by D-X (and by HBK alone) for months. Umaga is done. Nitro is way too low in the card for having a fair shot at Cena... Once again, Cena v HBK was an obvious choice.

Really this wrestlemania is all about the spectacle it will definitely be in Taker's/HBK's favor that night but ahwell. The only heel that's been built up has been Edge. Really he's the only main event heel in WWE that can step into any program with any champion and make it seem worthwhile. Like I'd like to see Edge get the Title off of Bobby Lashley at Wrestlemania.

I was wondering is, after the way he treated Miz this week, Undertaker wasn't gearing up for a heel turn?
It would make sense as he is over no matter what, heel or face, and he generally plays heel 100 times better than anything else cos he tends to talk more then and, if we think back to the Ministry days, he can cut some good evil promos.
Other seem to think Batista is going heel, but with the Batista/Henry fued still to be completed after nearly two years or something stupidly long like that, i dont see him turning.

Another theory:
Maybe WWE is finally waking up and realizing we are tired of the current face champs, and realizing that they are not over. They want to get the belts off them, but don't want to send the fans home disappointed that heels are going over at Mania. They can transition the belts to established, respected faces who the fans will support, giving them a good ending at Mania and building the programs around them.

Another theory: Maybe WWE is finally waking up and realizing we are tired of the current face champs, and realizing that they are not over. John Cena, Batista, and Bobby Lashley are ALL OVER, in terms of ratings their segments get the highest, Cena often has the top selling items on Shop Zone, and Batista ALWAYS gets massive pops. This arguement of those 3 not being "over" is stupid because all 3 are over to the fans.

This WM main -event build-up could really STINK and you know i'm just right!!! I'm not looking forward to 6 weeks of back-slapping and that goddamn "i'm gonna beat you, but i respect you" stare, and that "they respect each other, they become allies until WM, and become a tag team" angle. Then there's that "oh, sorry i didn't mean to hit you in that tag match there, because i still respect you and i want to keep kissing your ass until WM, Vince doesn't want us to fight right now" routine. And by god, it's already happening.

Would you rather we do Undertaker plays mind games with opponent before heading to Wrestlemania?
Seriously for the past years it's been Bad Guy has upperhand heading into mania so plucky face wins in the end.
I'm pumped up we have 2 matches that won't have that Heel/Face dynamic.
