...and somehow defeated WCW in the war and bought the company(extremely unlikely but lets pretend some miracle happened), would the WWF(or WWE) be the same as it is today? Would it be more gimmick base? Would there be more in ring action? and would it be more or less wrestlecrap?

It would be most likely more in the way that it was before Stone Cold and DX and rely on ridiclous gimmicks, for awhile but as I see it the attitude era had to happen if it didn't than ECW would have won the wrestling war. Because the attitude was a toned down ECW and if WWE didn't do that they would have went under no doubt about it. Also WCW was a ticking timebomb.
So ECW would have won got more sponsers and some one else would have taken over the finacial duties and Heyman would focus on writing. It Probaly would be toned down but still way more enjoyable than WWE is now. Also on the subject of ECW they might even do the Brand split , WWE Raw and ECW Hardcore TV. With the talent that they would have available they had to do it but I feel they would do a much better job with it since in my opinion they would have a much better writing staff. So than we would be at the same point with slightly better wrestling but with one company ,ECW.

One of the reasons people watched WWF was because it was raunchy, racy, lewd, and crude; and people kept tuning in to see just what outrageous stuff they would put on TV. Basically, the WWF used shock TV to get people into watching their shows and managed to keep them there with the great wrestling they were putting on at the time. If they hadn't done all this, then ECW would have become a dominant wrestling because they were doing it. But, they did and were able to conquer the wrestling world thanks to their money and resources.

ECW didn't have backing that was anywhere near the bankroll of WWF and WCW at the time, they couldn't survive. It wasn't just WWF taking it's superstars, it was also WCW. So, maybe the Dudleyz, Taz, and RVD would've ended up back at WCW, but I think, regardless of what happened to the WWF, ECW still would've folded.

That is true, ECW at the time didn't have a cable channel iirc. Plus, I heard the WWF at the time was financially helping ECW, hence the reason why it lived as long as it could.

If ECW had some one else doing finaces it would be alive today that is not disputable. Hell if they had a tv channel that advertised it would be still here. Plus of course WWE was helping ECW it wasn't competition. Heyman knew better than compete with WWE. If the attitude era never happened ECW would have bought WWF which was bearly hanging on from 1995-1997 and than they would have killed WCW and bought them out. So basically the same thing would happen except with ECW.
People were going to the events unlike WWE at that time. What killed ECW was finaces nothing else, people stayed in ECW for so long because of great working conditions, until they didn't get paid. People loved it there and look at WCW back than and WWE now it a mess. If ECW survived wrestling would be better no question about it.
