Wouldn't this be a better way to get talent ready for Mondays and Fridays and get them more exposure? Just use it as a developmental launching pad and let the fans chose who moves to the 'A' and 'B' shows. Keeping the 'ECW' name is pointless. Guys are being called up to RAW and Smackdown! too quickly, without developing mic work, presence, character, etc. This would be the perfect testing grounds. Thoughts?

Perhaps they could merge the OVW and DSW rosters and start a brand new developmental promotion.

Perhaps they could merge the OVW and DSW rosters and start a brand new developmental promotion. Unfortunately, that solution is probably too logical for anyone at WWE to comprehend.

I'd love to see that, as I don't get to watch OVW. But I do watch DSW, and they put on a great wrestling show. Maybe if WWE can get two hours, air both OVW and DSW.

I like the idea, but it'd make the "send them where few know, to repackage gimmick" idea much more difficult.

The developmental territories are not property of the WWE. Cornette still is a part owner of OVW. Besides a wrestler hardly ever keeps his gimmick when he is promoted to the WWE. The rare occasion is Duece and Domino and MNM.

OVW really hasn't been that great since Heyman left but that's just my opinion. He also had a better talent pool to work with too.

Keeping the 'ECW' name is pointless. Not really. 'ECW' is marketable, 'OVW' is not.

Then people will complain about how green these people are, and how bad some of the promos are. I think ECW should have a proving ground feel to it, bring in new talent, and talent that you wouldnt see on Raw or Smackdown. But to just have OVW replace ECW, no way. OVW works fine the way it is, and ECW well... it's getting better.

Having OVW seen by a million or more of your fans would kind of make debuts/demotions/"firings" impossible to do the way they want.

I agree but they need to change the name though if they do it. How about instead of OVW/DSW call it the Global Wrestling Council, GWC.

Perhaps they could merge the OVW and DSW rosters and start a brand new developmental promotion. And THAT is the best idea I've heard in a LONG time. I'd buy a friggin' Tivo. TIVO MAKERS! Give Vince a call! Make this happen and I'm purchasin' one!
