But he Lost ALOT Sometimes clean Just on PPV, between '97 and '01. Lost to Bret Hart, WM13. Lost to Undertaker, A Cold Day In Hell. Lost to Kane, KOTR '98. Lost to Undertaker and Kane, Breakdown. Lost to Mankind, SurSer '98. Lost to Vince McMahon, Royal Rumble. Lost to Undertaker, Over The Edge '99. Lost to Shane & Vince McMahon, KOTR '99. Lost to Mankind, SS '99. Lost to Triple H, October '99 event (I forget the name) Lost to Triple H, No Way Out '01. Lost to Kurt Angle, SS '01. Lost to Kurt Angle, September '01 event (forget the name of this one, too). Lost to The Rock, SurSer '01. Yup. Totally unstoppable. Jed Shaffer ~It's sad that I pulled that all from memory. Lets see how many were clean: Lost to Bret Hart, WM13. Clean Lost to Undertaker, A Cold Day In Hell. (Hart Foundation screwjob ending) Lost to Kane, KOTR '98. (Taker/Mankind screwjob) Lost to Undertaker and Kane, Breakdown. (Might be clean, dont recall) Lost to Mankind, SurSer '98. (screwjob with Shane was ref/steel chair) Lost to Vince McMahon, Royal Rumble. (Rock interference) Lost to Undertaker, Over The Edge '99. (Shane as ref/interference) Lost to Shane & Vince McMahon, KOTR '99. (Screwjob ending) Lost to Mankind, SS '99. clean Lost to Triple H, October '99 event (I forget the name) (Rock interferenc backfire) Lost to Triple H, No Way Out '01. (Clean) Lost to Kurt Angle, SS '01. (DQ?) Lost to Kurt Angle, September '01 event (forget the name of this one, too). (Did the angle where he was under the rope) Lost to The Rock, SurSer '01. (Angle title shot to the head) Yes, he lost, yes he lost clean occasionally, but of the 14 losses you mentioned 4 were clean and 10 involved missive screwjobs. Meanwhile, he also beat Foley (Dude Love) with a special ref/timekeeper/announcer. He also won 3 rumbles, beat Kane clean (with ease), beat Taker clean, beat Rock several times clean, beat Big Show 2 weeks after his debut, buried the entire coperate ministry on a weekly basis single-handidly. Im not denying Cena has been pushed like mad, but let's take off the rose colored glasses when it comes to Austin's run at the top. The guy was by no means a jobbing machine

The Summerslam one was definitely DQ by Austin. He hit Angle with the Stunner 3 times and could not defeat Angle. In retaliation, he Stunnered Chioda and Patrick (Alliance ref). Although there was no bell sounding to end the match, it was to assume a DQ by Austin. So technically, the match never ended and probably never will.
The other loss to Angle, occurred in Unforgiven, the September event for 2001. I thought Austin lost clean to that match...because Angle was not champ for long.

No, he did lose clean, but they played out the angle where he was under the rope for the next few weeks until the rematch. My point (that I should have made clear) was that thy kinda discredited Kurt's win

Im not denying Cena has been pushed like mad, but let's take off the rose colored glasses when it comes to Austin's run at the top. The guy was by no means a jobbing machine No, but he wasn't booked as Superman either. He was booked exactly like he should have been, as a badass redneck. When he beat the hell out of people, it was believable because never once did he show fear or give his opponent any credit. They were pieces of trash and he was going to whip their asses. Simple, yet extremely effective. Cena is a very vulnerable champion that somehow manages to beat his opponents anyway despite whatever injuries or shortcomings he may have. He doesn't come across like a badass at all. He just comes out to his rap music, does a little dance, smiles, and walks away with his ridiculous looking belt. Plus, there's also the fact that Austin was more over than anyone had ever seen. There wasn't a butt in the seat during his matches, and I guarantee you that all of those butts had a Steve Austin t-shirt on. People loved him immensely, and he still wasn't booked like Superman. Hell, his longest reign with the title was when he was heel at 175 days. His longest reign as a face? 91 days. Most of his time at the top of the company wasn't spent with the strap.

How much you want to bet there will be a skit where Vince makes ECW toilet paper with Dreamer, Sandman, and RVD's face on it? I'm not even joking.

The purpose of the Wrestling Observer is to get itself over. Exactly, also they are wrong more then they are right. Don't even think that 2/100th's of this has any truth too it.

Everytime I read a story like this, I get this sinking feeling in my stomach; and I feel like I'm watching Vince McMahon piss on a ECW logo.

Well, I'm sure people wished for years that ECW would come back and it has. Be careful what you wish for....you know the rest.

What if they revived WCW instead of ECW, would that work, or just 2 minutes or less?

What if they revived WCW instead of ECW, would that work, or just 2 minutes or less? I feel that would have worked out better since ECW was more of a mindset while WCW was about making money so people wouldn't have cared as much. They could have had Eric Bishoff be the WCW repersentative and it would have worked out better.

They could have had Eric Bishoff be the WCW repersentative and it would have worked out better. They should've done it when they had Steiner and Goldberg. But they still have various former WCW stars: Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Chavo Guerrero, Vito, Chuck Palumbo(in dark matches), Taylor, Regal, Finlay, Helms, Shannon Moore, Jimmy Wang Yang, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Super Crazy, Torrie Wilson, Jamie Noble to name some.

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter ECW has now become a vehicle to make Bobby Lashley a superstar. Vince McMahon is determined to make Lashley look as strong as possible. The new idea is to make Lashley into an unstoppable, dominant champion. The ECW brand is now the catalyst that gives Lashley the credibility to be one of the company's top stars. ECW as a concept is pretty much dead, only surviving because they have a television commitment on Sci Fi to live up to. The main point of the brand is that when it's all over, Lashley can be moved over to one of the other brands and be seen as an equal to the other world champions. Considering that WWE wants Lashley to look as strong as possible, that pretty much explains why Lashley beat Test cleanly the week before their match at the Royal Rumble. Also, McMahon had given up on Test as being taken as a serious contender by the time of their 1/23 match. His future as an ECW headliner seems to be in doubt, especially considering that Gene Snitsky has taken his place. McMahon was trying to overcompensate for Lashley's lackluster performance at the 1/16 show. After seeing that show, which featured a three-way match between Lashley, RVD and Test, McMahon became so enraged that he vowed that the show would never be aired live again. He also exclaimed that there wasn't a single guy on the ECW roster that knew how to work. Although, he's probably changed his mind since then as the show has been live the past few weeks. McMahon was particularly upset about the main event as he felt that Lashley sold too much when he's supposed to look strong. Arn Anderson, who was the agent for the match, took heat for how bad it was laid out. However, Anderson said that the problem with the match was that Test and RVD insisted that they get their trademark moves in, and thus there were a lot of spots in which Lashley had to sell. In regards to the 1/23 match with Test, even though many in creative felt the time for the blow-off was at the PPV, there were no disagreements from the creative team on Test losing the match when the finish was brought up. A sea of "yes men" nodded in approval for the finish. Bobby Lashley unstoppable? Nail #1 in a coffin called ECW. I'm just sad Hairless Snitsky has to be part of this.
