In a shoot interview (the one where Bammer turned the tables on the prank caller), Bam Bam expressed some frustration and displeasure at his time in the WWF, so it looks like maybe they patched some things up before he died? If so, I'm glad, and Vince did a really classy thing here.
About Bam Bam in the HOF: eventually yes, but not this year. Hennig, Owen, Bulldog, Rude, and Pillman should have seniority.

Sure he was ok but not on the level of the others you mention. I'm not crapping on a dead person, just keeping things real.

Pillman was a great star and, even moreso, a great character, but sadly he had very little actual impact in the WWF, which is why I hate the concept of a "WWE Hall of Fame" to begin with, which in theory leaves several great men like Pillman, Abdullah, Vader, Hansen, and others out in the cold because their greatest successes didnt come in WWE or WWF

(I ask in honesty, not having seen either man's work.) If Verne Gagne deserves to go in - with his greatest success being in the AWA, not the WWF/E - then Pillman does, too, with his greatest success being in WCW. Besides, Pillman was one of, if not the first WCW Light Heavyweight champion(s), paving the way for the Cruiserweight title, which, as crappy as it is now, was very ground-breaking in the Monday Night Wars. Speaking of which, the "Loose Cannon" helped bring the "worked shoot" onto national television - BOOKER MAN! So, with all due respect, I think Pillman deserves it just as much, if not more, than Verne Gagne.

Bam Bam has seniority over Owen and Pillman, but Bulldog and Rude should go before him.

Really classy, Vince. I'm not much of a fan of his but that was a real classy thing he did.
RIP Bam Bam

Good move by Vince.
True, he's a tough business man, but he's not Satan.

Good move by Vince. True, he's a tough business man, but he's not Satan. I think this is where people get confused (along with the Mr McMahon character on tv).

What wasnt reported was that in return for paying for the funeral, the Bigelow family had to agree to let Vince McMahon exploit his death in the upcoming Batista/Undertaker feud. And it didn't wait for a page... Anyways, Vince has my respect for such a kind act.

I still don't understand why they didn't dedicate Raw to him. They do it with most of WWE alumni who die

Little story for you all. My godfathers brother in law was the head of merchandise in the WWF For a long time. He passed away about 4 years ago. Vince actually came to the funeral w/ Triple , Stephanie and Shane. Alot of WWF Guys were there. It was very strange. But Vince paid for the funeral, and the told my cousin who is the nephew of the guy that passed away. He had an internship waiting for him in the WWF if he wanted it doing what his uncle did. That was a personal phone call he made. Ever since then I had the most respect for Vince.

I posted this in the repeated thread but since this is the older one I'll post it here too:
I saw this on Gerweck's site and hoped there was a thread up already.
After reading this, I think a lot of people on here really need to lay off Vince for a while. I think he deserves at least a week without any negative comments.
Agreed?
