^Blurry by Puddle of Mudd Funny thing is, isn't like like everything these days? I mean, old wrestling is better than new wrestling, older music is better than new music, old video games are better than new video games and so on. Well, that can be sorta explained. All three of your examples; wrestling, music, and video games, are things people believe strongly in. Most people look at the older versions of these three items, and they see something that was made with a lot of heart. It basically is a less sappy way of saying "the secret ingredient is love." The current worlds of wrestling, music, and video games are seen by some as nothing more than heartless commercialized whore-outs, just trying to get the newest "it thing" out there and collect as much money as humanly possible from it. It may not be completely true, but some people (myself even just a little) will see it that way. Hey dude people can talk about nostaglia and all that stuff. But early 90s music > today, no question, no doubt...

That video is a big rip-off of WWE's "Lonely Road of Faith" video.

I watched both TNA and WSX tonight. WWE isn't gonna be in any serious trouble o' death for quite awhile.
But yeah the whole industry seems to be in a bit of a doldrum, and I miss Biker Taker and Rock as well. And Jericho.

Hard to believe how much things have changed. In such a short amount of time as well. I talk up Smackdown so much now, as do a lot of people, but that show for me can't compare to some of the stuff in that video.

Eh, it's easy to look at the best stuff from the past and say "man, wasn't that great?" with a little tear in your eye. I mean, they edit out all the stuff that was awful for the sake of their "good ol' days" package. I'd like to see the flipside of the coin, a video that highlights all the bad stuff from WWF/E's past. Where's the "choppy choppy you pee pee"?
Same thing with nostalgia. People remember the stuff that was great about their youth, and forget all the awful stuff, and say "man, it was better when I was young." Everything was better when you were 10 years old, you weren't worried about being legit, you just sat around playing your Pac-Man video games or whatever. If you listened to hair metal back then, it was great, cause you were young and carefree. Nevermind the fact that the dime-a-dozen hair metal bands were just as much a "cash-in" as whatever's out there now.
I just think no one likes experiencing anything, but they all love remembering things.
Sorry, I went off on a weird tangent. For the second time tonight.

...continuing on a tangent..... That was simply a great post, DSR. A lot of people say that WWE is in a slump and those people want it to go back to the way it was. It can never be the same again. ECW will never be the same as it used to be. To me, it was lightning in a bottle that lasted longer than most people anticipated. The Attitude Era finally ran its course, just like the NWO era. You can only ride a good thing so long before it comes to an end. Think of a movie like Animal House. It was a classic for its time but now looks awfully dated. The comedy genre has pushed the envelope so far that Animal House doesn't seem as funny anymore. After Janet Jackson pulled out her nip at the Super Bowl a couple years ago, the FCC really cracked down on a lot of their fines and what the media can and cannot do. And with a target as big as the WWE, the FCC would probably have quite an eye targeted toward them. Howard Stern went to Satellite radio because the FCC forced him to water down his show. But I do not understand how FX is allowed to have shows that drop the s**t bomb 5 or 6 times an episode, as long as it is after 10. I would bet the WWE would get a major fine for doing the same thing. New ideas have to be developed and then we will all (hopefully) be talking about the new peak in wrestling and how we all survived the "down years".
