How many people on this board collect wwe figures out of curiosity?
Also, has anyone ever come across anywhere, online or otherwise that occasionally puts them on sale? I've noticed that a lot of them don't sell very well in my local stores, but then they're just taken off the shelves and replaced with new ones. Just curious.

I've noticed that a lot of them don't sell very well in my local stores, but then they're just taken off the shelves and replaced with new ones. Just curious. I used to collect lots of them. Now, I just get the Classic Superstars series, and only of guys I like, I dont care if I cant get a complete set, I just want people that I am fans of or that amuse me. With that said, the selection here is TERRIBLE. There were entire series we never got (The one with Vader and the two Hogans for instance) Target has a handfull of Fabulous Moolahs, and a bunch of Gymini and Regal/Burchill 2 packs no one will ever buy. Toys R Us has a TON (and I mean a damn TON) of Billy Grahams in different stupid outfits no one will ever buy, and a handfull of TNA figs. I've had to do most of my buying online lately. I usually either buy from ebay, or www.ringsidecollectables.com RC's prices arent always great, but, it's not horrible.

I get the Classic Superstars exclusively, I have everyone so far however I'm really motivated to stop getting certain people because of the following people: Al Snow Droz Johnny Rodz Mae Young Tank Abbott Shane McMahon Seriously, besides maybe the exception of Snow and Shane, what did the other accomplish? They were either comedy relief or a complete miss, or both! Snow belongs in for sure, but I'm super, super pissed about his figure, where they chose to include a styrofoam "head" in instead of the real Head (probably because they're scared of a bunch of bible thumping hicks crying like last time that "Al Snow murders and rapes women then cuts off their heads) Johnny Rodz was apparently an influential trainer, but I know nothing about him. Droz....eh, I take pity on him for being paralyzed, so give the guy a figure. Everyone else, get f***ed. ESPECIALLY Tank Abbott. What a joke.

Next series to be released
* Vince McMahon (2) * Shane McMahon (1) * Sycho Sid (2) * Ultimate Warrior (2) * Barbarian (1) * Warlord (1) * Gold Dust Classic (1) * Giant Gonzales (1) * Shawn Michaels - LJN Style (1)
Man do they have a giant hard-on for Warrior figs or WHAT?! It's getting OLD! I'll definitely get Sid and Goldust, maybe HBK, Vince....MAYBE Giant Gonzales for a LAUGH!
BTW, on a side note, I hate when people CANNOT F***ING PROPERLY SPELL the names of talent that you see on TV all the time. It's not "Gold Dust" and it never has been, nor is it Sean Michaels, Shaun Michaels, Brett Hart, Sonny, or Curt Henning. While sometimes legitimate sources make this mistake (PWI said "Henning" for years) there's just no excuse for it today.
Yes I'm picky, sue me.

FYI A great place to get hard to find figures is at any ROH live event. I recently picked up the Hogan 3 pack and The Hart-Michaels clasic screwjob collecter set. Pretty damn sweet.

"Al Snow, like I said I'm kinda halfway. But when I look at classic, I look at pre-Attitude besides some people such as Rock and Austin, who's own legacy lives out the era they wrestled in. If they wanted a "best of the Attitude era" line, do it then...not here."
Well, read the back of the CS figures where they tell you to watch for more superstars "From the 70's, 80's, and 90's."
Basically, your definition of "classic" doesn't nessacarily match theirs. I dont consider Austin or Rock "Legends", but, you certainly wouldn't make current figures of them for a regular line.

yes, the best of the 70's 80's and 90's I classify anything above 1997 as classic, although I have no intention of wanting a Friar Ferguson or Bastion Booger figure even though some people (the crazies) do. I'll stick to the likes of Savage, Owen, Steamboat, Texas Tornado, Dino, and Elizabeth. Call me crazy...but I think they are better than waxing Al Snow. I'd rank Snow ahead of Steamboat, Dino, or Tornado, as far as personal preference goes. I wouldn't buy anything of those three, at all. I wouldnt call Akeem "The best" anything, but, I bought him because it was an amusing gimmick. Of course everyone wants Savage and Owen signed, but, Owen's widow refuses to sign, so they can't make Owen. Depending on who's side you listen to, Savage either wants too much money, or WWE won't allow it, so, they can't make Savage. So should they just....not make anyone because they can't sign those two? Or should they extend the line by any means nessacary hoping to sign them later on? They've signed some big names recently (Razor Ramon and Honky Tonk Man among them) besides, no one's forcing you to buy figures you don't want ya know

I have 2 LJN figures (Hogan and Hillbilly Jim). I have dozens of Hasbro figures. I have the ORIGINAL 6 jakks figures from 1996 when they first came out (bret hart, undertaker, shawn michaels, diesel, razor ramon, ultimate warrior). I have dozens of other Jakks figures, including Yokozuna (limited edition of 20,000). I have a bunch of WCW figures, but those were always a lot weirder.
Hell I think i have a few of the "bendem" rubber WWF figures.

They didnt refer to it as the screwjob on the package did they? I wouldn't put it past them. I have a ton of old LJN figures and a few of the first Jaxx figures, and I really like the new legends series but I only have Ric Flair and I just ordered Mickie since she's not sold in stores

well yea, I'm still kinda surprised that they put a mention of the Montreal Incident on a package instead of just a word like oh I dunno, maybe "Feud" This is almost encouraging anyone who plays with them to pull one over on the Hitman once again-It never ends!

And should they be signing other talent? Absolutely! I just happen to disagree with whom they are signing. Seriously there are about 200 guys I can think of off the top of my head who are much more deserving than Al Snow. I don't give a damn if Snow is a nice guy, if he's a good wrestler (which I think he is) or if he's very cheap to sign (more likely the case). I just want old-school wrestlers; plain and simple. Thats what the line felt like up until recently, and when you sign guys like Abbott, you open the doors to even more crappy figures. Al Snow isn't worth $12, plain and simple. As Godz pointed out, nobody is holding a gun to your head and screaming at you to buy an Al Snow figure. He's there for those that want him. Personally, I wouldn't expect all that many people to buy a Sandman or Tommy Dreamer figure, but I would, just because I happen to like them.

"Al Snow isn't worth $12, plain and simple."
To you, because you don't like him. THEN IF ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY, DON'T BUY IT! I don't think Dino Bravo is worth 12 cents, I cant think of one memorable thing he ever did except get his ass kicked by the likes of Hogan and Hacksaw. Al Snow was hugely over in ECW and had a few decent pushes in WWE at different times in his career. You act like they havent put out any good old school guys....you can skim all the old WrestleManias and you'll find basically anyone worth a damn except for Savage, Sherri (At least I dont think they've made her yet) and Elizabeth is either made or being made. Only ones I can really think of that are lacking are Big Bossman, and some outfit variants I'd like to see. Hogan, Warrior, Roberts, Perfect, Rude, Duggan, Jimmy Hart, Heenan, Andre, Bundy, Kamala, DiBiase, Piper, Funk.....aren't exactly nobodies.
Plus why would they lie about Savage? Maybe they havent contacted him because WWE WONT ALLOW IT! They have to get WWE approval on anything they do. HTM is a different story ENTIRELY. WWE approved it, HTM wouldn't sign with WWE, so he signed seperately with Jakks. If WWE says No Savage, Jakks can do NOTHING about it.
I seriously dont understand why you feel the need to complain, if something isnt worth the money to you, don't buy it! I certainly didn't run out and buy Hillbilly Jim, George Steel, Moolah or Billy Graham....but I didn't feel the need to complain about it either. It's my money, I don't feel obligated to buy something just cause its available.
Also not sure which shows you were watching, but, I didn't see many Dino Bravo or Kerry Von Erich main events. Von Erich never rose above IC status (In WWF), Bravo was a lackey for Earthquake....unless I'm missing something.
Look at it this way. WWE now includes WCW and ECW. Al Snow is definitely an "ECW Classic".

Yes, but when the line ENDS, what do we have to show for it? Tank Abbott, Rodz, Mae and Droz but no Randy Savage, Killer B's, Mr. Fuji or Dino Bravo ? That's messed up Jeremy says the line will go to "at least" Series 25 We're on 16 or so. Would you really prefer them fire all their big guns NOW so we're stuck with MORE Ultimate Warrior repaints and....um...Paul Roma, Uncle Elmer and The Moondogs for the last few sets?

"The people who do are the ones who have watched over the years and have a soft spot for old-school wrestling. They have no waxing clue who Al Snow is! They don't care either! "
I'm sorry, but, I don't know what kind of wrestling fans you know, but I've never ran into anyone short of a braindead Cena mark who doesn't know who Al Snow is.
Please elaborate on how Rob Conway who debuted about 3 years ago and has....been apart of a moderatly succesful tag team, and nothing else, is the exact same as Al Snow, who's been in and out of WWF since 1995 and is a multi-time former Hardcore, Europeon, and Tag Team champion, had main event angles with Mick Foley and The Rock, and was a huge ECW star.
And of course the Brooklyn Brawler is going to sit on shelves, but you know what? A lot of people wanted him, too. It took me forever to find these two, but, for MONTHS (after I found them, of course) Diesel, Dusty Rhodes and Mr. Perfect figures sat around untouched. You telling me people dont want those?
(Note: after reading this it makes it sound like I can't count. I say "two" because I didn't buy Dusty Rhodes, thought he looked like s***)
Also am still not sure what part of "dont buy what you dont like" isn't clear....
Also not sure whats wrong with making what sells, you seem annoyed by the fact that Hogan and Warrior sell? Well its the money generated by Hogan, Warrior, etc, that let them experiment with lesser known guys that might not sell as well.
Jakks will be glad to hear that you gave up, though, and gave them permission to go ahead and make dumb ol' Al Snow who no one's ever heard of and who no one will buy. ;D
