I'd venture that almost all of us here have some friends who watch wrestling as a mark and do not share the "blessing" that we have of being smarks. I sometimes talk to one of my friends who is the very definition of mark. And I don't mean that as a bad thing... he's a good buddy of mine. It's just that some of the stuff he says is so completely opposite of my own thoughts, that it's comical.
Here's an example.
I just was talking to my friend today about last night's ECW. We were discussing about how Vince has been appearing on the show, probably in an attempt to draw more attention to the brand. You wanna know what my friend told me? He said... and I quote... "If they want people to watch ECW, they need to quit interrupting the dancers! Vince interrupted them last week and Striker interrupted them yesterday. They are gonna gain viewers by putting hot women dancing... but as soon as they cut it off to have Matt Striker start talking, people are gonna change the channel!"
I had to laugh because a part of my brain hurt when he said that... but at the same time, I realize that his opinion is just as valid as anyone's.
So tell me about your own mark friends, and the things that they have said to you.

This may not count but alot of my friend's don't like any of the cool heels. They get so mad when a heel wins or cheats or anything like that. My one friend despises Edge and gets mad everytime he wins or i talk about Edge being awesome. My 11 year old cousin is practically in love with John Cena, in a clearly platonic way. He always talks about Cena like he was the greatest wrestler ever. Everytime i try to tell him that Cena isn't that great he never listens. He even goes to bed with a Cena action figure.

My only friend that is actually in to wrestling in the least thinks Batista is the greatest thing to hit the ring in ages. I kid you not.

My uncle believes that Cena's FU of Viscera is better than Hogan's Bodyslam to Andre.
Also, he feels that I should like Cena because he is strong.

Unless you added a "before the neck injury, when he was teamed with Christian." to that last sentence.

Makes you wonder what people see in him that make them like him, but you just like who you like I guess. Riding the coattails of 05 maybe?

After all, I marked out like a little girl last night when Snitsky make his return and beat up Lashley. I was almost giddy! Yet a quick glance over at pwinsider and I am reminded that Snitsky is definitely not "smark friendly". But I say HAIL SNITSKY!

My mark mates actually have similar opinions on wrestling in terms of wrestlers we like/dislike etc etc. But wrestling is alot more exciting and unpredictable to them, which is why I envy them.

Here's another one of my friend's honest-to-goodness beliefs... Great Khali can do no wrong. One time he told me how Khali would destroy Cena if they ever had a straight one on one match. WIth me being the eternal smark, I was like "But Cena is superman! He never loses... why would Khali beat him?" I think his response was "Dude, Khali is the msot powerful guy on the whole show. He can squash anybody at all." Hard to argue that I guess.

When it comes to marking out like my friend when something I like happens, I still do quite a bit. When Homicide dropped Styles with the Cop Killa at Bound For Glory I shot up and yelled YESSSSSSSSSS really freaking loud. I did the same when Van Dam beat Cena at One Night Stand. Being a smark doesn't completely take away from the enjoyment ;D

The drummer in my band is uber old school and marks for Hogan and The Warrior. I tried to explain why Angle is superior to the 5 move wonders and he just goes on about "that stuff is boring,he's not got the cool character like Hogan". He's 21 aswell.

the people i went to unforgiven with are marks. i get insanley mad at one of them because hes very closed minded.
i watched the rumble with them, and he told me khali wasn't going to be in it, but one of the members of cryme tyme was. i told him no, and he basically told me i was wrong because i disagreed with him.
and yes, i did rub it in his face when khali came out, and neither shad or jtg, didnt.
