... Was good. Or at least it would have been. It did make me like him more, in all honesty, but the t/hing is, it shows that he's an incredible athlete with a heart of gold. That'd be cool if he was anywhere but ECW. If this brand is so EXTREEEEEEEME and "hardcore", then why the f*** do we have a champion with a heart of gold? He's supposed to be badass and shit. Show him in intense training. Show him so that we believe this guy's a beast and give us a reason why we should buy him as an ECW champion. Don't show his momma, his coach talking about how great a guy he is, or him in a youth circle at the friggin local library. I like Lashley. I really do. I think he's a great athlete and a good wrestler. I want to buy him as champion, and I think they're slowly getting there, but as of now, he just seems like an upper mid-carder walking around with a third-rate belt. Yeah, he's hard hitting, but his soft-spokeness outweighs the firmness of his striking dramatically.

nostradumbass, thats exactly what I was thinking. Don't get me wrong, it was a well produced vignette, and Lashley honestly seems like a great guy that anyone would be lucky to have as a friend. But "great guy" don't cut it with most wrestling audiences, particularly the ECW one. But, they did say it was part 1 of a 4 part series, so maybe they'll go somewhere else with it.

How sad is it when you're running vignettes like this for the CHAMPION? These are the exact same ones they run for guys who are about to DEBUT. This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that they know that not only is he not over, but that he needs to be introduced to the audience! Unreal.

They did the same kind of vignettes for Shelton Benjamin when he was a face. I, for one, thought they worked for him then, and those same kind of vignettes could work for Lashley now. But Lashley just flat out doesn't belong on ECW in anything other than a monster heel role.
