VHS! VHS! VHS! Let's get the chant going.
Theme songs matter to me. Commentary matters to me. Authenticity matters to me. That's why I'll never think about buying a WWE produced DVD. It's not like The Wonder Years where there are very few "bootlegs" out there. The WWF tapes are all over the place; EBay, Amazon, tape traders. It's very easy and affordable to buy authentic material these days. They just won't come in DVD form, but there are DVD converters.
Yes, there are legal issues and money matters, and that's fine. But I'm still baffled at the amount of people willing to buy these things when they aren't authentic. I remember watching a clip from the MSG Classics series they were showing last summer. They showed Hogan vs. Muraco from I believe 1985. Hogan came to the ring with Real American as his music. Which would be fine if he actually used the theme back then. He didn't. I was mad and I didn't even pay to watch that.
Am I picky? Certainly, but I want something I buy to be authentic, not edited.
