As a fan of the sport since the mid 80s, I have to say, from a longtime fan's point of view... ECW was great last night...
Why?
1) No in-ring promos by Vince McMahon or anyone else for that matter... just "wrasslin"...
2) RVD and Thorne put on a great show. The crowd was way behind RVD (who apparently is still over as hell) and RVD got the win... great match... ECW victory... fans happy.
3) CM Punk got a win tonight and will be going to WM23... another great match and another great win for ECW..
4) I really enjoyed the short tag match with La Resistance against those 2 skinny, short guys... especially when 1 of them got chunked out on the ring onto his back! That was somewhat.. extreme.. ;D
5) Lashley, Kennedy, and Holly put on a decent main event match... I enjoyed it anyway.
Basically, you had good matches, ECW originals getting some respect, and ECW newcomer CM Punk is heading to WM23. The only bad part of the show was the chicks dancing. Hey... I love to watch sexy women.. but the show is only an hour, and stop wasting valuable time with pointless segments like that... wrestling isn't about divas, i dont give a damn who says they belong there.

The RVD/Thorn match surprised me, since it was essentially RVD kicking the shit out of Kevin for nine tenths of the match, while Thorn kept kicking out of everything. I thought it was great, especially for an RVD match, or a Thorn match for that matter.
I'm looking forward to Punk/Nitro on the Hangover, since I don't want to wait until Friday at midnight to watch it ...

I quite enjoyed last night's show, too (although I almost always find something to like).
I agree that the only bad part of the show was the pointless dancing bit. I can watch half-naked women almost anywhere. I watch wrestling shows for the wrestling.

ECW has been the best wrestling show on TV for 1 1/2 months now.

Nothing awesome really jumped out at me. It was a decent show last night. Anybody else notice how Kelly has to watch the other girls in order to know what to do?

IMO, ECW last night was better than RAW the night before... just my old school opinion...
Keep Vince the hell off camera.... and PLEASE... spare ECW celeb appearances.... (Trump and K-Fed both bore me)...

I do think ECW has improved these past few weeks.

As long as they give the ECW originals a win now and again, it's fine.... the originals shouldnt be used as jobbers and mid-carders, as a whole... RVD can still go, and IMO, can wrestle better than alot of the newer, young guys.

I don't mind Lashley and Holly and the Extreme Expose gives me a chance to take a piss. Smackdown is good wrestling and RAW is great for storylines and the like but, ECW to me is the best of both.

I just watched the Thorn/RVD match via the "Hardcore Hangover" and thought it was pretty good.
I loved the spot where Thorn grabbed the ropes to prevent RVD from hitting a move, bounced a few times, and took off running...into a kick.

Outside of Lashley ECW has been getting better. This New Breed vs Originals storyline was the one I was hoping for since it started. And they had some good matches. It's cool to watch WWE between Rumble and Mania, they step their game up. Sadly after Mania I expect Raw to go back to being s*** and ECW to return to WWECW form and for Smackdown to remain the only decent WWE show.

I was suprised with last night's show too. I haven't been watching anything WWE too much, mainly due to lack of interest. But with no WSX last night I decided to give ECW a chance and I gotta say it was enjoyable. Hell, I didn't mind La Resistance. So yeah, if this is a sign of things to come, I'd be stoked.

I liked it. Didn't even mind the La Resistance squash.

Lashley should have fueded with Kennedy over the US title months ago, I think it could have really lead to a great fued, the two of them could put on decent matches, with Kennedy taking care of most of the promo work, but instead the belt was dropped to Benoit (just like everytime they have no idea what to do with the belt) Kennedy was sidetracked with decent fued with Taker and Bats, and of course Lashley was Vince's hand picked champion for ECW
I think Lashley wouldnt get so much hate if he was sitll in the midcard. But I was really hoping for Kennedy to get the surprize win at No Way Out or Tuesday, then Kennedy and Lashley could really shine in an ECW mainevent at Mania. Kennedy could really be that huge heel star ECW needs right now, and Smackdown could manage with out him. But instead Lashley beats him clean and well lets just say Lashley's Mania plans put the ECW title as an after thought.

I liked the show too. RVD/Thorn was solid and Punk/Nitro was good. Any ECW show that Punk wins a match is a good one for me

Nothing awesome really jumped out at me. It was a decent show last night. Anybody else notice how Kelly has to watch the other girls in order to know what to do? I did, reminscient of Kimberly during the Nitro Girls dance routines on Monday Nitro, she had no clue out there. Last night's show was good, not great, but it was a good show, Punk moving on to Mania had me marking out the most last night.
