I remember hearing somewhere that Rey was going to start wearing masks in the style of the one he wore at WrestleMania 21 (the back of his head exposed, and just the front of his face covered). However, due to the fact that it kept slipping off in said Mania match, he no longer wore masks like that.
Did anyone else hear this?

I seem to remember that. I think it was because his regular masks kept slipping as well, but when those didn't work, he went back to the original masks.

Although i don't have the answer and am of zero help - watching him constantly fixing the damn mask at Wrestlemania 21 really got on my nerves and wound up distracting me from a lot of the action.

You are easily distracted aren't you? You must have hated that Halloween Havoc Rey Misterio vs. Eddie Guerreo match than. |

I agree that Mysterio's constant fixing of his mask is very annoying.

In WCW he'd wear masks like that frequently, I guess at WM21 it was just a bad day.
