I was reading an earlier topic and figured I'd just bring this point up. The current ECW Originals are aging by the second, does anyone honestly believe that they could still carry a show by themselves? I think they've mixed the Originals and the New Breed fairly well, and sans a few misfires and people's obsession with nostalgia, ECW has been fairly successful.
Bash away.

Joey Styles and Tazz are supremely annoying.
They aren't bad when they're just calling a match or bantering, but when Joey keeps reminding me every minute that C.M. Punk's only addiction is competition, or that Kevin Thorn is a follower of 'Vampirism' and frequents 'bite clubs', or that Balls Mahoney is a caveman, or that Matt Striker is a disgraced former school teacher, or that AHHHHHHH!!!

The fact that they keep bringing random hosses over for the hell of it, none of whom have potential to be even slightly over.

To be honest I think the single biggest problem with it right now is the severe lack of storylines. Aside from the Originals vs New Breed (which is basically a rehash of the "Faction A vs Faction B" angle that we've seen a million times), there are no real rivalries or feuds on the show.

There seems to be no real athletic consequences from one week to the next. Wins and losses seems to amount to little more than satisfying one's pride or getting revenge on a rival.
The overuse of the world title is a bit much, especially as it lends to either the wrong people getting shots or repetition with matches.
You know if only there was something which could logically be defended in ECW on every TELEVISION episode, a CHAMPIONSHIP which the lower carders could fight for.
Oh, well.

I don't mind the in ring product. They have more than a handful of guys I really like, and since it's WWE, there will always be no-talent muscleheaded dolts wandering around, so there's simply no avoiding that.
It's really a problem with the commentary and the timeslot for me. It's on at midnight on a Friday here in Canada.

The Punk nonsense came up pretty quickly. They're putting over Hardcore Holly as a big star there, and they've been doing it for months, so he's not a glorified jobber. And Matt Striker beat him by using the ropes, and is also not a jobber. Punk lost to two people and was undefeated for a good long time. He's not being jobbed out. Everyone loses sometimes. So please, stop with the Punk nonsense. This is why the "CM Punk is overrated" threads keep popping up, because he's put on this crazy pedistal that no one can actually be on in reality.
Basically doing it in front of Smackdown fans. Do it in front of an ECW crowd. And bringing in the brand rejects, even though Elijah Burke has really been doing well.

Too much Punk, Too many originals, other than RVD & Sabu they all kinda suck, I don't know why people have a hard-on for Dreamer beating Thorn but then boo Holly beating Punk.

Crappy old WWE midcarders as main eventers. Holly and Test, namely.
Besides that, nothing has been too bad. But nothing has been too entertaining either.
Lack of a major Punk push makes me kinda unhappy, but he gets shown well enough.
It hurts that they rarely have any PPVs to build up to, so a lot of their storylines seem unfocused. Hell, even when they DID have a PPV to build up to, they didn't, besides the main event.

Holly, Test, and bald-snitsky....it makes ECW seem weak since guys who werent even mid carders in WWE are main eventers

Also, more disqualifications than even Raw or Smackdown, apparently, and sometimes for no reason. Terrible booking in the main events - Lashley beating Test in a nontitle match right before the Title match was dumb - stuff like that.

Maybe the lack of "Exteme."
Which is what made ECW.

Nothing too bad. Just the lack of extreme rules matches. They have improved over the last week. The major problem I have with ECW is Lashley.
