I was watching Wrestlemania 17 last night since I've been watching all the Manias in order leading up to Mania 23, and the second match on the card was the RTC vs Tazz and the APA. Watching it, I remembered how big of a fan of the RTC I was years ago.
I have been a Stevie Richards fan since the beginning of time, and anything that got him on TV was a plus for me. I think Bull Buchanan was extremely underrated as a big man as well. He was extremely agile and could move around the ring suprisingly well.
Plus, how genius was the idea of having a pimp and a porn star "fight the good fight"??
Any other RTC fans??

I hated them..I really did. I marked out huge for the end of RTC.
They really had me going..for some reason. So, I guess they were doing something right.

I hated them also. God, their music was so annoying.

They were the pefect heel team. They really had nothing to them that the fans could support. You could only really hate them. Looking back, that made them perfect in their role.
I hear the only reason that Godfather and Venis joined was to get the actual censors (Who RTC was parodying) off their backs for having a pimp and a porn star.

I understood why Val and The Godfather were in the group, and Ivory - but never knew why they got Bull Buchanan.

I understood why Val and The Godfather were in the group, and Ivory - but never knew why they got Bull Buchanan. Buchanan actually did this great promo about how he was watching WWF with his kids and how ashamed he was. It was really good. They really dropped the ball on not using Buchanan. He had a lot of potential.

Being a mark when that angle was on TV, i HATED it with a passion. Steven Richards was like my number one most hated heel at that time. So yeah, that angle was a success

I would've liked it A LOT MORE if Stevie had actually wrestled more instead of basically managing Goodfather/Bull/Val.

It was a stable and I dig stables but it outgrew itself. And I prefer Ivory not wearing a friggin ankle length skirt.

I hated Richards' haircut during that time.

Brilliant storyline. The only guy in it who I didn't like from a wrestling perspective was the God/Goodfather, who didn't really change his style at all, to the point of still using the Ho Train, without ever renaming it.

I remember when Ivory first joined the group, she had on those boots girls wear with jeans, the thin ones with the spiked heel. Anyways, she actually attempted to wrestle in them before twisting her ankle in a match I saw on Heat. After that, she had a noticable limp and stayed out of the ring for a while before returning with traditional wrestling boots. I just remember going, "What was she thinking?"

The Right to Censor was one of my favorite stables of the past few years. I saw them live at No Mercy 2000. Their theme was so loud and annoying in that small arena, I loved it.

That should have solidified Stevie as a great talker and ensured his future career in the E... however it instead got him "stevie night heat" and some pink tights

I thought they were an excellent stable. But they got very stale once 2001 came along and they didn't add any members for months.

I loved them, Stevie really shined with that gimmick. I remember people in my school actually shouting "Stevie kick" and quoting J.R.'s line of "white socks". Which seems really weird today.
