His theme music is one of my favorites right now too.

I like him too.
I still laugh at the idea that the Vampire's finisher is a Crucifix Bomb.

He's certainly come a long way from the days of Mordecai.

The name Kevin isn't scary enough though. Vampires should not be named Kevin.

I liked Mordecai and when I saw him I was excited for his return. The guys (and gal) of the New Breed are the legitimate future of wrestling and the future looks excellent.

I like all the New Breed too, minus Matt Striker.

I think what I like about the guy is that they aren't like "omg he's a vampire from transylvania!" or some over the top origin story for the guy. he's simply a weirdo that digs vampires, and that's why I think it works. it's got some sort of human aspect to it. plus he's a pretty solid in-ring worker.

I like all the New Breed too, minus Matt Striker. If Striker would get rid of those tighty-tighty shorts, he'd be fine. He plays the smug heel quite well. It's really crappy that they have a bunch of fresh faces vs a bunch of cult favorites and it's coming off so lame. It should be great.

I don't get it. The four/five guys in The New Breed actually seem to be the stars of the future -- what the ECW of old was built around. But then how do they actually f*** up the entire ECW product?
I think it's the legacy. But then again, in it's dying days ECW sucked hard. Justin Credible as champ? Cyrus the Virus? But now since the promotion closed, many people are shot back into thinking the promotion was something great, basing all the good memories off the company's golden years, and best characters/matches. Same with any dead promotion. WCW is usually thought of for nWo and bringing wrestling mainstream. Yet in the 80s it was pure ass. And in it's dying days it was pure ass.
If the WWE ended tomorrow, the entire legacy of it would be based around Hogan and Austin's era. Nothing else. Then 20 years later the brand reopens and tries to reestablish itself and can't replicate it's best years, people will shit all over it, and not remember that it for the majority of it's lifetime it wasn't such a great promotion.
Same with ECW. Hate to say it, but ECW was only "ECW" from like 1995-1999. And that's giving it a lot of leeway. Before and after it, the promotion was crap (save for some good things like Shane Douglas and RVD, respectively).
That being said, I'm actually somewhat enjoying ECW now. It's a lot easier to handle then it was on TNN (although I miss Rhino and Gertner and the crowd badly), but the main feud was better than then it is now.

He's certainly come a long way from the days of Mordecai. At the ECW house show in Baton Rouge a few months back we started a Mordechai chant. He was not amused.

I like ALL of the New Breed members ... except for Striker, and he's not awful, so to speak.

I like Kevin Thorn a lot too, and think he has potential to be a main player in ECW since he is one of the few guys whose character was born in the new ECW.
I am a fan of Marcus too, so much that i have reluctantly agreed to stop calling him Monty,

But if he were one of Dracula's servants, I think he would be renamed to sound more imposing. 'Kevin' just sounds like the vampire I graduated high school with.

Bumped so other people can get around to reading this post... I'd also like to Thank the guy who just answered my own question I was going to ask... "Is Kevin thorne supposed to be a gimmicky Vampire Vampire, or just some weirdo dude who thinks he's a Vampire?" And the thing about Monty, well as least by changing his name and ignoring the whole NFL thing, we at least avoid the "hey he was a former football star" gimmick so many generic guys from the 90s got, and it solves TnA's pesky problem of "hey so... is he a former superbowl champion or crazy wildman from the Serengeti? Mike Tenay says he went to the Superbowl, but Monty Swears he's been living in the jungle chasing animals and making fur skin coats"

He should have been called "Caliban Thorn" maybe.
Sounds more vampire-like than "Kevin"
WWE should watch "Angel" for material to rip-off.
