I have to agree with skillz here. I hate Warrior, but making a DVD solely to bad-mouth him is messed up. The fact that Vince can do this to wrestlers is just plain wrong. That's why it's imperative that Warrior wins this case. If the WWE ever released a DVD bad-mouthing Randy Savage, I'd go into a rage. This whole "you're either with us or we'll destroy your legacy" stuff has got to stop. If I have to root for the current incarnation of Ultimate Warrior to succeed for that to happen, then so be it. But would people really be so quick to bash Randy? You can't really question his devotion to the business...sure, you'd have the typical "He was a nut, he was paranoid of Liz" etc etc....but yeah I agree that would piss me off too, but for some reason I'm giving WWE the benefit of the doubt and assuming that this 'negative' slant to their DVDs will be the exception, and not the rule.

Well, I saw the Warrior DVD on Youtube (before it was pulled), but I only recall Hogan saying something positive about Savage. Something like "I knew Warrior was in good hands when facing Randy". Hopefully you're right though. If they haven't slandered Savage's name by now, hopefully they just simply don't plan on doing it. However, the WWE is smart enough to know that Randy Savage = money. Put out of DVD of rare Savage material, and people will jump on it. At some point, they are going to see the money potential and do something. At least if Warrior wins the lawsuit, it's less likely that they'll butcher Savage's name too.

The moral actions taken by the WWE don't change the fact that Warrior has done just as much damage to his own name, particularly when he preaches hate.

Warrior is either a) Nuts, or b) Acting nuts because it keeps people talking about him.
Just as Vince Russo believes that World Champion David Arqutte was a good thing (Because 8 years later we're still all talking about it), perhaps Warrior believe his best chance to stay "Mainstream" is to appear crazy. And of course a true crazy person doesn't think they're crazy, so he's "Mad" about the DVD.
Regardless, while I did enjoy that particular DVD, it was a hatchet job. After the first 10 minutes or so (When they seemed to actually be pretty unbiased, just stating some facts) there was either bad mouthing warrior, or kissing Vince's butt. I take everything that was on this with a grain of salt (HEck a whole shaker full in fact).
As for slandering Warrior, its been a while since I saw the dvd, and I'm not completely familiar with all the statutes and requirements for such charges. If several wrestlers (And there fore capable of assesing his skill), who worked with him were of the opinion he was a bad worker, how is that slander? In fact I'd say the only actionable things on there (That I recall) if in fact they are lies, is his "Holding vince up at Summerslam" and the whole "Who came up with the warrior name" (Which I would assume was something that was discussed when warrior sued Titan for the rights to the name years ago) As for Bobby Heenan's line "He was too stupid to know where he was from...." I figured that was a joke and wasn't meant to be seen as fact.
It is pretty Low of vince that he can bash former employees just to make a buck (And to scare other ones into doing what he wants).

The thing is, Warrior is actually a pretty canny businessman. Okay he has a rep on this board and the web in general for being a loon, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the guy spent a very small part of his life in the ring, yet cultivated a mythology that allowed him to make a living off it nearly twenty years after his wrestling days were over. I believe that Hogan said that the best wrestler is the one who makes the most money with the least amount of work or injury. Warrior makes his money off the back of simply being Warrior. And if anyone out there does anything that ridicules his name, they are attacking his ability to make a living. Going out to seminars and riling up the crowds by saying things that will PO the majority of people in attendence may seem like the guy is a few drips short of a piss, but at the end of the day, it also helps to get him further bookings on the lecture circuit. The WWE is making money off the back of Warrior's name and reputation, yet also offering the standpoint that the man was a jerk and a goof and should never have been a wrestler, or while he was a wrestler, that he was unpopular among other wrestlers. It didn't stop them from pushing him to the moon tho, and sitting back watching the cash come in. Rant over. I tried suggesting bringing him to my college to lecture. But tge "student goverment" denied the request since he was "too conservative". I really hate how my school brags about equality and diversity but you can't bring one speaker that has a different opinion from everyone else.

That was their code for "we're not bringing in Captain Crazy-Pants the Wrestler". LOL
And slander... I do believe that he'll have to prove that what they said was INTENTIONALLY untrue factually and was presented as fact and not opinion. Those laws are so murky, though. It should be an interesting confrontation, should it come to a head.

Does Warrior wrestle anymore? If not, how can he show that half of those charges affect his income? Who cares if Bobby Heenan or whoever said he's a bad wrestler if he's not wrestling anymore.
As for over-identifying with his character...I'm sure someone's said this by now--he changed his friggen name to the character!

Yeah, but he did that so he could use it in promotions and his professional life. Basically to keep Vince from saying "Nuh-uh. That's ours. Go be someone else, Jim."
Not that it's not harming his image to be seen as the wackaloon who changed his name to Warrior. But he did it for a kind of un-crazy reason.

He should have replied to the DVD the same way he replied to eBay customers:
LOL You think a man like the Ultimate Warrior would be so unprofessional and dangerous, when clearly he was the most phenomenal worker in all aspects of the wrestling business! Thanks for the amusement.

Would love to see the look on the face of vinnie mac if he walked in and the jury consisted of: Wayne Ferris Lex Luger Bruno Sanmartino Jesse Ventura Randy Savage Bret Hart Rita Chatterson Chyna X-Pac Mark Merro Brian James Monty Sopp That doesn't make the jury work. I think a better jury would be those that worked flamboyant gimmicks... Johnnie B. Badd if you will...

I'd be more sympathetic towards Warrior if he wasn't an a*****e -- Just my opinion lol (I hope he doesn't read these boards and sues me next as well ) As for who asked about court cases the E has lost, I think you'd be better asking if they have every won Warrior, Ventura, the WWF and so forth......Vince's lawyers suck. I think he only keeps them around cause they actually won the steroid trial one

Lawyer: "Please state your name."
Warrior: "When the thunderbolts appeared and the elephants stampeded across the tundra, there was only one force left in the multiverse, the only force capable of handling the destruction DESTRUCITY of the twelve planets and all the comets, the only force of survival and destruction that understood the alignment of the desert moon and it was the WAAAARRRRRIIIAHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Lawyer: "Your honor, the defense rests."
Judge: "This man is batcrap crazy. I award the case to the WWE."
Warrior: "WAAAARRRRRRRRRIIIIIIAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Fixed ;D

-WWE lied about coming up with the "Ultimate Warrior" name. In interviews with Warrior, all throughout the years, he tells a story of how he is actually the one to have come up with that ring name while doing his first promo for the company.

While the DVD said some unflattering things about Warrior, it brought up some good points. How could fans back him when he may disappear again? He was pretty huge and could have sustained the ever-changing world of wrestling, but he decided to be a prick. What Warrior seems to forget is that Vince McMahon MADE him a star. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if it weren't for McMahon! In every interview, he wants to bash McMahon, but the fact remains that he would be nothing without the WWF. Lots of guys would kill to have the opportunity he had.
