- In the promotional material for Backlash being sent to their affiliates, WWE lists that ECW and Smackdown! will be on hand for this PPV which will be on Sunday April 29th. The wording sent to hype up this PPV reads, "Rivalry and rage explode in controversy as ECW and Smackdown join RAW at Backlash. Catch the intensity as John Cena, Batista, Undertaker, RVD and Lashley face the consequences of their actions from WrestleMania." (thanks to Colin Vassallo)

OH NOES! T3H INTERPROMOTIONAL WARFAREZ!!!
I know it's become uber-typical of any member of the IWC to say so, but seriously, does the brand split even exist anymore?

Yeah.....
I remember when the brand interpromotion was limited to Wrestlemaina, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series, and maybe No Way Out.

So does this mean RVD is going to play a big role in Wrestlemania?

The brand split is dying. I think its the right thing to do now. They need to keep the feuds fresh

Maybe it will be a big 10-man tag for the main-event?

The brand split is dying. I think its the right thing to do now. They need to keep the feuds fresh I honestly think this is the best format, brand split, but with liberal interactions. It keeps anyone from being overexposed, and it gives more people a chance to get on TV. Some people think it has to be either completely separate or 1 brand, but I think something in between gives you freshes feuds, etc.

I think they're slowly going back to late 2002/early 2003 where all PPVs had both brands on.

I don't see anything that could be a spoiler in that advertisement. ECW and Smackdown being part of a Raw show wouldn't be that out of the ordinary and the fact that RVD is mentioned is probably more because he is the biggest ECW star rather then he is going to win MITB III.

I don't think WWE sees the brand split as ending though.

I hope Taker and ECW guys aren't on that ppv bc I was supposed to be going and now I can't bc I missed too many days of school and I'd love to see Taker live and ECW once again too

RVD being mentioned is the only thing that interests me, I figured he'd be gone by then.

RVD being mentioned is the only thing that interests me, I figured he'd be gone by then. He's under contract until September or October.

Catch the intensity as John Cena, Batista, Undertaker, RVD and Lashley face the consequences of their actions from WrestleMania No HBK? Maybe a Cena heel turn at WM, then HBK will become "injured" so he can finally have his knee surgery.
