Yes, this was partially inspired by the tragic deaths of Mike Awesome and Bam Bam Bigelow. Guilty as charged.
But think about it. How many great talents have walked through the doors of ECW Arena, and have had legendary matches, but will likely never go into the WWE Hall of Fame? Masato Tanaka, The Public Enemy, Stevie Richards, Psicosis, Lance Storm, The Pitbulls, Shane Douglas, the list goes on! They deserve some sort of recognition, IMO, and an ECW HOF would be the place to do it.

No, just keep it all under the WWE banner since they own it all.

AN ECW wing of the hall of fame would be a good idea. Kinda like the celebrity wing but...ya know, with wrestlers.

I wouldn't mind a little "unofficial" ECW hall of fame with ECW originals like Mike Awesome, etc. The problem is that if they make a big spectacle out of it like they do the WWE hall of fame, you know that they would be inducting guys like Steve Austin, Mick Foley, and other guys who are more associated with WWE than ECW.

It would be funny if this happened, and New Jack got inducted. Imagine the precautions that WWE would have had to go through to keep New Jack separated from Paul Heyman and the Dudley Boys.

Doesn't Viking Hall have something like this? I could have sworn banners wore hung in honor of certain wrestlers.
