Will the Intercontinental Championship be on the line now? I hope so. It hasn't been defended at WrestleMania since WMX8, which is a travesty. Personally I don't think it will because I doubt Trump will pick someone who WWE wants to have the IC strap. However, I can see Trump's representative possibly costing Umaga an Intercontinental title defense. It wouldn't be right for the belt not to be defended at the 20 year anniversary of Savage/Steamboat.

True - Umaga may not still be the champ in 40 days or whatever.
The Road to WrestleMania has many twists and turns, my young friends.

I don't see Umaga getting to 'Mania with the title. I think Trump's hire cost Umaga the belt in a Triple Threat (so Umaga goes in having only lost to Cena) so there is heat between the two wrestlers other than "Trump hired me to kick your ass".

I expect Umaga to be putting some new face over sooner rather than later.
Super Crazy perhaps? Strange but possible.
At any rate I don't think he'll hold the title for long. Wouldn't be surprised with a face turn soon after either.

I doubt the I-C belt will be defended. The Trump match already has enough on the line without the petty I-C title being on the line. It was only given to Umaga to help build him up to an unbelievably huge monster that no-one can stop, which is what the I-C title was designed to do.

I would be surprised if Umaga loses the title.

Secondary titles should be defended on the secondary PPV shows. In the era of the height of the I-C title, there was one top title. Now there are two (or according to some 3) top titles.

It wouldn't be right for the belt not to be defended at the 20 year anniversary of Savage/Steamboat. Funny you should say that: Rajah confirms today that Trump's representative will be Steamboat Willie, the old Mickey Mouse cartoon.

Since they have 3 main titles to defend now, it doesn't really bode well for the lower card titles on these cross brand PPVs. (Probably a guaranteed 4 now, since the women's title will have a match)
Even WWE knows that having 6 title defenses or something looks pretty silly. Between all those guaranteed title matches, a few non title feud blowoffs, a random attention grabber cruiser match, and MITB3, they just don't have any more room.
