With Umaga winning the IC title and being McMahon's representative, it looks like the IC title won't be on the line. Sure, the title could be on the line, but I doubt it because Vince and Trump are going to be the primary focus of the feud. If Lashley ends up being Trump's representative, what's the point of him going for the title? If Foley is Trump's representative, why have the title on the line if Foley will leave after Mania? Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions.

They could have Trump's guy cost Umaga the title between now and then to build heat between the other than "My guy is paying me to beat you up." Then the belt can be defended.
The last 2 years the IC champ (Shelton) has been in MITB so it wasn't a complete waste.

because it basically means nothing nowadays. A rivalry means way more then the IC title to me presently, the only titles that matter are the Worlds.
The more the titles, the less special it is to win one, and now that there's three "world" titles, i think it's a lot more important to get them in the event (a fact many people overlook terribly when remembering "the good old days" booking)
