I have yet to break out my original tape of the SS06 PPV, but I just watched it on 24/7. It seems to me that the cheers that CM Punk got during his entrance were heavily toned down. I could swear that the cheers for CM Punk were louder than DX. In fact, I know they were. There were several threads on these boards discussing that fact.
Maybe it's just me. Anyone want to confirm or deny this?

why would they tone it down? Man if thats true that f***ed up. I guess thats what you get for getting a bigger pop than DX. Teaches you to have Punk in a huge much in Philly the home of the indie scene in the Northeast.

If the pops for CM Punk weren't at least twice as loud, then yes they were toned down.
I haven't seen it on 24/7, but Punk's pop was by FAR the biggest. It isn't even a comparison. I remember watching this and being impressed by the pop.

The pop for his entrance wasnt that huge, it was when DX was starting their mic work and the crowd broke out in a big CM Punk chant.

Yeah when Punk comes out there is just kind of a "woo it's a good guy!" cheer going on. The second before HHH is about to speak in to the mic that massive CM PUNK chant started.

I'm not surprised that they would tone down the reaction,if they had started the CM Punk chant during anyone else's promo it would have been left alone, but not HHH's.

I was there in Philly live at SS 06. During Punk's entrance, his pop wasn't nearly as loud as DX or even the Hardyz. Once all the entrances were complete though, a big "CM Punk" chant broke out from one section of the audience, and pretty soon a good portion of the people there were chanting his name. It was so loud Triple H had to notice it and include Punk in on the DX routine.
I guess the marks cheer during entrances, but the smarks decide to get loud once the music stops.

A question for those who have WWE 24/7
I am going to be signed up sometime later this week. I know content gets updated monthly, but does previous month's content available to watch, or do you lose it when the update comes? I would love to go through months or even years worth of updates.
Thanks

Damn that sucks, from other people talking it sounds like I missed a load of great content already. This is my first time getting an "on-demand" channel, since I've had DirecTV for years.

Yeah, unfortunately current technology doesn't allow us to peruse through the WWE video library, or HBO's, or Showtime's, and so on. But even though you've missed some good stuff, there's still a lot of good stuff to look forward to. Their PPV section pretty much always delivers at least one great event each week, The Monday Night Wars is probably the greatest concept to come out of the channel, and all the old un-edited (other than entrance music being re-dubbed) ECW, NWA, AWA, WCCW, and other old promotion TV shows is fantastic. I just wish Cox let me record On-Demand stuff on my DVR. Once I finally get a DVD Recorder , though, will be a great moment.

Of couse they edited out his reaction. As a matter of fact, HHH is so paranoid of Punk that on the DVD they blurred him out of the match like the old attitude logo and when the annonucers tried to say his name the audio mysteriously said Flash Funk instead of CM Punk.

Flash FUnk, eh? Were background singers crooning "scorpiooooooooo" and steppin'? If not, I declare shenanigans.

Ya...they also used to tone down The Beverley Brothers chants during LOD matches.
