Are you really comparing weed to CAFFEINE? Weed in my opinion is safer than Caffeine

Did the RVD story make any nightly news? Was it on the front page of the Sports page? Did it make any real big splash in the news world?

Weed in my opinion is safer than Pot ^ Are you high right now? ;D Sinister, I didn't hear anything about the RVD story in my local news, but it was on various non-wrestling net sites Austin probably wouldn't have been punished too badly no matter what, but yeah at the end of his run he probably would've lost the belt. Also, Double J with his own kliq would be like him in TNA times 10. Austin may not've left WCW in the first place..

quick question...
WHEN DID THE F***ING QUESTION BECOME ABOUT HOW BAD RVD GOT BUSTED? IT NEVER DID! THE QUESTION IS, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF AUSTIN GOT BUSTED WIFE BEATING AT THE HEIGHT OF CAREER AS OPPOSED TO THE END OF IT, WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN STAY ON F***ING TOPIC?! SERIOUSLY, THIS IS WHY BOBAFETTS LAST THREAD GOT LOCKED, BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE CAN'T STAY ON TOPIC AND CAN'T STOP FROM CALLING EACH OTHER STUPID.
that is all...

I was asking about RVD because I wanna see the comparison. I was asking how big an impact RVD had with his drug bust. I'll tell you that Austin getting busted for drugs and such would be a big ass deal during his era, and he would have gotten less than what RVD got..

as for the topic..hmm heres something if Austin had been arrestyed for wifebeating during his initial big push (at the start of the attitude era) think of the effect it woulda had to WCW as well
and thanks bigheadinc..I was starting to worry it would be a RVD mudslinging post all over again

What gets me is, Austin beat his wife, ran from the cops, etc etc... Then when he "cools down" they devote an entire issue of RAW magazine to him. Orton gets caught smoking weed ON THE JOB, and instead of being fired like you or I would, he gets a month long vacation, a PPV win over Kurt Angle, and an interview in WWE magazine.

Okay sorry, If Austin got busted for smashing his wife? He would have been suspended and really nothing else would happen in my opinion. Because in our messed up value system smoking pot is more evil than beating your wife. Think how waxed up that thought is for a second. Taking a drug that is not harmful at all is worse than beating up your spouse? Yeah family values indeed. See why I do not like Austin I mean another comparison to get off drugs would be Orton. He almost got fired for being a prick backstage and messing with the divas stuff(with possible crapping in they're bags, which I really doubt.) Than here comes Austin who beat his wife and than later comes back and everything was fine and dandy. What a joke huh?

What gets me is, Austin beat his wife, ran from the cops, etc etc... When did he run from the cops? Uh, he left the house when Debra called them, and there was a story here on the local news about a helicopter following him while he was driving in a yellow convertable, and he was seen giving them the finger from his car. No, seriously.

No, seriously. I read about that but, he wasn't running from the cops. This was well after (at least a few days) after Debra called the cops. The helicopter was from a local TV station that was flying over his property. The TV station had to apologize for filming Austin on his property without his permission.

But it's sad to keep seeing RVD get his name dragged through the mud for his weed incident.
There's definitely a double standard when it comes to responsibility and punishment.
If Vince likes you, you'll get the public "I'm really disappointed in you" speech, a vacation, and you'll wind up back into the big picture somehow. (Hence Orton, and even Austin. Despite all of his Diva-like actions and hissy-fits, Austin theoretically is entitled to them simply because he helped Vince become a legit billionaire. And though I don't agree with it, I can't help but expect him to get the light slap on the wrist)
If Vince doesn't like you, or if you're getting over because of a character HE didn't create, then you need some tough love, and I guess nowadays, "tough love" can include ruining a TV show/brand that other workers are counting on to earn a living just to make a point.

Yeah, if RVD, Sabu, or, hell, 99% of the roster didn't want to job and said "F*** you" and got on a plane to fly home, you think they'd be welcomed back any time they like, get put in MOVIES, etc?

You know, this thread did pose a very intrigiung scenario: Would the WWF have been able to do what it did if Vince did get sent up the river?
What about the supposed sex scandals that took place during the Late 80s/early 90s? Finding out about an unconfirmed number of male employees being asked to forego their anal virginity to Patterson to keep their job should've hurt them bad. But, since "A Current Affair" broke the story back in the early 90's, instead of a serious news program, it was quickly forgotten.

The sex and drugs of the 80's and early 90's are one thing I really, really dont want to know about. I dont want to see everyone from my childhood in a terrible light now.
