Oh Lord, they're gonna dub over Jesse Ventura's commentary on the first 3 events, aren't they?!

Same old song and dance.
The WWE will edit half the damn thing, people will still fork over one week's paycheck for it, and then complain about the edits afterwards.

Not me, I've got the 1988 Royal Rumble from the USA Network, I have the PPV version of the 1989 Rumble and the 1990 Coliseum Video Rumble, so I have no need of their (edited) set.

He's on the Wrestlemania Anthology, though. What was different then?

His commentary was sadly edited off the Survivor Series '89 match on the Dusty Rhodes dvd.
For sentimental reasons, that was one of my favorite ppv's, so it sucked not having the commentary as it actually was. Plus it was weird hearing just Gorilla

The Liger match on the Pillman DVD didnt really suffer much without Jesse's commentary. Its not as good but its bearable.

I remember when my local video store was changing ownership, they had this huge sale of old video's, a lot of it was old WWF stuff. I ended up buying Wrestlemania 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10, as well as Royal Rumble 91 and 92 and Survivor Series 92 and 93. I'm also pretty sure I bought Summerslam 89 but I can't find the tape. Spent like $25 dollars total.
Vince can't get his slimy paws on these. There will be no blurring out WWF turnbuckles, there will be no muting of the F in WWF. There will be no silencing Jesse Ventura.
You can't erase history Vince!!!

Why is his commentary going to be edited out? Does Ventura have something against Double Double E?

So I'm guessing they keep his commentary when it's rather important (on Anthology DVDs and major career retrospectives) but dub it over on DVDs where it's not going to horribly distort and disappoint the buyers? So hopefully the RR Anthology is safe..... Not me, I've got the 1988 Royal Rumble from the USA Network, I have the PPV version of the 1989 Rumble and the 1990 Coliseum Video Rumble, so I have no need of their (edited) set. Same here. But I'd like to clear out some space on the DVD/VHS shelves - and selling 13 Royal Rumbles (sold all my DVD copies already) sure would do the trick.

Same old song and dance. The WWE will edit half the damn thing, people will still fork over one week's paycheck for it, and then complain about the edits afterwards. And they got a right to. All the money that gets spent on that thing and Vince cant do a little extra to give us what it says were getting? Its a load of shit...

They wrestled well before Nitro came along in the early 1990s at Super Brawl when they were starting the light-heavyweight championship. The match is even better than the Nitro match and is also on the Pillman DVD.

It was my understanding, that any dvd that is released, say for example Summerslam 89-Jesse has already been paid for that, but when they took the Dusty match from that event and put it on a newly created dvd-in this case, The American Dream - The Dusty Rhodes Story, the E would have to pay for Jesse's commentary, since it is a new dvd that wasn't made when Jesse was a WWF employee

Schivonie(again,SP?), Mongo, and maybe a few others were left on, so that is lame that Ventura was off.
