Seems all we do is complain, but which era of fan has the right to complain the most.

As someone who looks at the attitude era as their favorite time in wrestling, I'd say the 10 year viewer. Coming in in 1997 with Bret Hart's heel run, getting to watch through out 97-01 when wrestling was awesome, and then start slipping in to the awful programming we have on Monday nights now? I complain because I know it could be better than this, and they don't seem to care.

I like to think any fan, even me a 2001 starter, who is able to watch old wrestling shows as well as the new stuff, can complain as much as they want if they don't like the quality of the product.
I personally don't like it, but I don't complain. I just go with this forum's flow which I'd rather do than anywhere else.

The longer you've watched, the more ground you have to stand on. Only logical. 22 years here. But everyone has a right to complain. You just sound better with more years under your belt. Jed Shaffer ~Except Batista fans. You guys suck.

Everyone has the right to complain regardless of time. People who believe just because they have been watching wrestling longer than another person gives them a higher opinion are idiots when in many cases it just makes them older than the other.

Anyone who is dissatisfied with the product. However I do feel like I am entitled to more when I have watched religiously since WM 5

On the other hand, couldn't the older fans' arguments be turned around by younger fans with "Well, then why are you still watching?" (18 years here, BTW)

I think anyone has the right to complain, if they don't like something, then I don't see why not. I just choose not to complain too much, I prefer to talk about what I liked about something over what I disliked.

If you're a fan and are passionate then yeah you have the right to complain. But if you've spent your hard earned cash on the product you expect results.
If i'm spending a thousand quid a season to watch Arsenal then yeah i have the right to complain if the team is not working as they should.
The money they get is obscene so they should perform to their highest level.
Heck if John Cena (obvious example) earns so much through wrestling i expect a high level of performance. And a high level in wrestling ability.

21 years here (started in 1986) and I absolutely hate what wrestling has become, as I've stopped watching completely other than my old tape collection. I understood that the Attitude Era had to happen, as fans were tired of the '80's formula, but the Attitude Era effectively killed kayfabe and ruined my enjoyment for wrestling in general.
Everyone has a right to complain, IMO. The product stinks.

On the other hand, couldn't the older fans' arguments be turned around by younger fans with "Well, then why are you still watching?" (18 years here, BTW) No, it can't, for two reasons. 1) Unless we've been complaining for 20 years CONTINUOUSLY. I've been a fan of wrestling since 1985. I only did complaining for a year or two at the turn of the century, and since I resolved to stop watching something (read: WWE) that pissed me off, I don't complain anymore. 2) That logic could be used against younger fans, too. If you've been watching for the past 5 years, but the past 2 have sucked, a long-time fan could ask "Why are you still watching?" Besides, being a long-time fan means I can occasionally trot out Old Man Shaffer ~Back in my day, them wimmin's rasslers wuz ugly, but they could rassle, and that's the way we liked it! MATLOCK!

Yes, exactly. Also, us long time fans (1990 is my earliest wrestling memory) have suffered through a LOOOOOT of crap. However, we also have a lot to base on when we complain about something, as we have that experience as fans. It's like just becoming a Buffalo Bills fan today and being like "OMG WORST TEAM EVAHS!!11!!" when us long time fans can tell you, "Not even close."

I'm a 7-8 year viewer, but have seen far more than 7 year's worth of wrestling, what with tapes and all. I think all groups have the right ot complain, 20 year viewers the most as they've suffered the most as well as been rewarded the msot, but now are having to watch crap despite loyal vieweing for 2 decades.
