i really can't stand people over the age of 12 who talk about it like it's real. i know a guy who is very nice, but talks about wrestling like it's 100% real. i tried to explain to him some of the inner workings of the buisness, even going so far as to bring him to a training session that involved me and my "biggest rival and most hated enemy" working out together and drinking beers afterward. when we left the bar, he looked at me and said "dude, how can you two be so nice to each other when i know that you don't get along?" now, this guy is 27 years old. how does this happen? I know people like that I don't hate them... but it's very odd to try to talk anything wrestling with them.

There's a guy I worked with who was well over 40, who I've had discussions with as if it's real. I thought it was cool, as long as he's enthusiastic about it and enjoying it then what's the problem? I'm a bit of a hypocrite for being on boards like this and talking against being a total insider, but I've had far better experiences talking to people as if it's real than fake. Example one: It was refreshing to talk to the guy at work about how I think Triple H is gonna kick Cena's butt at Wrestlemania because Triple H is the man, aside from because Triple H is porking Steph's wife and won't have it any other way. Example two: Me and my friends were watching ECW ONS II at the theatre, and as soon as RVD won the title some dude told me "Cena's gonna retain the title tomorrow night on Raw," and I responded with a standard "no way dude," and the guy continued, "no he will, I read it in a spoiler this morning," and I'm just like DUDE! WHY!? There's nothing like wrestling, and from experience it's just incredible if it's believable enough to make you think it's real, why would you wanna go so far out of your way to take that away from someone? It's like telling a kid there's no santa clause. BUT ANYWAYS...I don't HATE any wrestling fan but I don't prefer TNA fans, as I'm a strong supporter of booing heels and cheering faces.

So would you call everyone before the 80s stupid? Let the guy enjoy his bliss. When you turn smark... The magic and happyness is gone. true

So would you call everyone before the 80s stupid? Let the guy enjoy his bliss. When you turn smark... The magic and happyness is gone. I hate this mindset. The magic and happyness was right there for me when Shelton Benjamin first faced Triple H. Or when Shawn and Kurt had their pre-first match feud, complete with Shawn Michaels in a disguise and "Sexy Kurt." The magic was right there for me, even when Shane kicked Kane into a flaming dumpster, or when Randy Orton got thrown onto the tacks out of the RKO, or when he reversed the Tombstone for the first time, or when Edge used his money in the bank stipulation, or when RVD and Cena showed down at ONS2... If the magic was gone, I wouldn't still be watching.

I don't "hate them" but I don't particularly care for fans who participate in backyard wrestling.

Me, I'd rather be a mark and being able to enjoy a "2 stars at best" match because I support one of the wrestlers involved rather than watching a stellar main event, wondering if Cena will retain or not, basing my analysis on the supposed future plans of WWE, on merchandise sales and on who's sleeping with who in real life.
The magic may still be there from time to time, but the "mark" magic is gone anyway.
About fans: I can't really stand uber-smarks, TNA fans and in general every "I know what's good for wrestling, and if you don't agree with me you're a sheep BAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" fan.
I think it's better debating about Cena with a Chain Gang soldier than about WWE's general state (or about Triple H's backstage power) with a smark.

Let's see, mostly I cannot stand smarks(the utter self-pretensiousness drives me up the wall),also the fans that brings the 500 foot wide by 500 foot high sign with him, sits right in front of you, then holds the damned thing up every 1.5 seconds so you can't see the match(esp. when the show you are at is a house show).

You read my mid about the fans with signs. God I wish the wrestling would just ban anyone from bringing thoses things in. I dont want to pay 40 bucks to see a back of a I LOVE CENA or Im WITH STUPID! I really cant stand the fans who bring the signs during a NON TELEVISED show!! WTF is the point!!

I know that its for fun and these guys are playing roles of heel and face. I know that most of them probably don't hate each other at all. I know all this but at the wrestling event I would never even consider thoughts of that. That ruins the fun of wrestling angles. That ruins the fun of profesional wrestling shows in general. If someone gets bodyslammed that I hate and a fan gives me a high five you better believe I'll accept that high five.

These are in terms of message boards in general, so don't anybody take what I say personally:
I'm not fond of people who use terms like "the IWC" or "smarks" as though they (the person who used the term) aren't a part of such a classification. They are just blanket terms, and yet everyone uses them as a put-down.
I also dislike anyone who uses such terms, or really any put-down, rather than actually argue against someone else's point. It's so easy to just write someone off as a "sheep" rather than actually defend your point of view.

I hate fans that chant "BORING" during technical matches.

While I don't really "hate" them, I would go with Youtube shooters. I swear, people put themselves on the internet, find some people who agree with them and the next thing you know they act like they are the smartest wrestling fans alive.
I guess that means I am leaning with a dislike towards "elitest"s style fans. I'll watch Viscera. I like Khali, the man is great unintentional comedy. I thought Mark Henry had enough momentum to win his match with Batista and hope he comes back strong. The three I just mentioned would have probably gotten me banned from the ROH message board...

I hate fans that chant "BORING" during technical matches. I hate fans that chant BORING for any reason ever. If you don't like the match, remain dead silent.

I'll sum it up by saying anyone who acts like they are better/smarter/more mature than you based upon the wrestlers they like as opposed to the ones you like. According to some a-hole friends of mine, I don't know s*** about wrestling because I like Hulk Hogan and dislike CM Punk. I "Dont get what the business is about"
Um, the same thing as any business you f***ing marks, MAKING MONEY, AND HOGAN'S MADE INFINITELY MORE THAN PUNK MOST LIKELY EVERY WILL, and thats not a knock on Punk.
And I too hate "BORING" being chanted during matches, but I'm all for it during crappy skits or segments.

I hate...
- Fans who discredit guys like Hogan, Warrior, Goldberg, Andre, etc, because "they couldn't work". First of all, that's completely subjective, and second of all, they contributed to the business where it mattered: money. Just because they didn't need to chain wrestle for 20 minutes or kill themselves with bumps to draw money doesn't mean they shouldn't be praised for their contribution to the business, as short (Warrior, Goldberg) or as long (Hogan, Andre) as they were.
- Fans who think wrestling is a sport and not a business.
- Fans who whine and complain about the WWE, but still watch it and purchase their products (DVD's, PPV's, etc).
- Fans who try to get their chants over during shows. If I'm watching a wrestling show, it's because of the wrestlers, not the 3000 morons who think chanting "this is awesome" somehow adds to the match. It doesn't. Stop it.
- Fans who think they are superior because they "appreciate wrestling". Give me a break. If you watch ROH or like guys like Benoit, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. That doesn't make you better than someone like me who'd rather see Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant.
- Fans who complain about the Diva Search and how the WWE only cares about bimbos with big breasts......when those same fans create or contribute to 50 page threads about the "hotness" of Maria, Christy, Ariel, etc. Um, isn't that proving that the WWE is right?
- Fans who complain about the WWE's massive editing in DVD's, but go out and buy the DVD's anyway.
Man, I hate A LOT of fans. Didn't realize that.

Maybe you should be "Skillz, the fan hater" rather than "Thread Killer"...? Not a bad idea, though I'm technically both. I'd hate to give up one for the other. I hope "skillz The Thread Killing Fan Hater" isn't too long. (edit) Darn, didn't work.
