Hogan and Warrior probably (well it was 1990, but lets just let that slide). For smarks it would have been that generation's Cena vs Batista.

Ric Flair's so-called 'workrate'.

"Why isn't Dibiase champion yet?!". Some of us still wonder today

Let's see. In the 80's, the things that bugged me the most were Hogan (hated him from the first time I saw him, just an instant reaction), Jake Roberts' lack of a major sustained title push, Koko B. Ware not getting more time on TV, Garvin's title run, any company in the world letting Sid have an open mic (funny now, brain numbing as a young fan), and Savage getting the "second bannana" treatment for his ENTIRE title run.

In the 80s I wouldn't be surprised if wrestlers tracked us down and slapped us in the mouth. COUNTLESS people would be bickered about not getting the right push, Ted Dibiase, Macho Man, Jake Roberts, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, basically replace Cena with Hogan, Batista with Ultimate Warrior, and that's probably where the internet would be.
I wouldn't be surprised if people would be getting fed up with Andre the Giant too.

Knowing the results for matches weeks and weeks in advance.
Imaging what an amazing match Hogan/Flair would be
Hogan holding people down
Actors getting main event pushes
Hey, it's true, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here's some 80s stuff that, while all enjoyable, would no doubt cause tears in the IWC:
Non-workrate kings Hogan and Piper headlining Wrestlemania 1 together with an ACTOR (and Orndorff, to whom I'm more or less indifferent).
The Machines vs Studd and Bundy: daft gimmick, awful matches.
The Andre-Studd matches.
Hogan wrestling the broken-down, crippled Andre The Giant at WM3.
Honky Tonk Man's 15-month Intercontinental Title reign which ended at the hands of the Warrior in 30 seconds: there's three things to moan about right there.

Dude, I think the IWC would rather complain about how Piper doesn't have the WWF Title. Plus, somebody who really can't wrestle all that well and sucks at promos or something would become an internet phenomenon. My guess: David Sammartino.

JYD... blah blah he can't work and he's fat... he's on drugs, they should can him. Meanwhile, Dynamite Kid, who was on more drugs than Rick James, should be champ.

Being as the IWC is mostly just a "Prove how different I am but hating whatever the "not-smart" fans like and like what they hate" club, you could pretty much say exactly the same things they complain about now, just substitute the name of an 80's wrestler as appropriate.

ANDRE the giant. His matches were no better than Khali's are today.
One thing is the board would be full of tv results weeks before they air because there was always tv taping and not done live

Why the hell are they breaking up the Rockers!!! This "Sexy Boy" gimmick is so stupid, way to kill Shawn Michaels career Vince. At least Marty Jannety still has a shot at superstardom.

All good answers in this thread.
Which makes me glad I didn't join the "IWC" until the late-'90's, when kayfabe was already dead anyway.

ANDRE the giant. His matches were no better than Khali's are today. This is a true statement. Even though I heard that Andre was better in the ring before his body started breaking down. If you compare the Andre from the late 80s to Khali today, Khali wins easily. He can just never match Andre's natural charisma.

WWF fans: "Who the hell is this Harley Race guy? And they're giving him a KING gimmick? That's lame, induct him into Wrestlecrap!"
NWA fans: "Dudes, you don't even know! Harley Race is the man!"
