As reported earlier, World Wrestling Entertainment has chosen to discontinue the pay-per-view press conferences effective immediately. One source said that the reason for this was that too many people would come to the events to chant "TNA", not to mention "VKM", during the conferences. This problem was especially evident at the New Year's Revolution press conference last week as there were several loud, audible "TNA" chants during the event. To make matters worse, Jonathan Coachman acknowledged the chants by saying, "that like Kansas City, TNA is inferior." All of this was audible on the live webcast on WWE.com, but it was edited out of the subsequent post of the video. Anyways, the chants at the New Year's Revolution press conference irritated Vince McMahon so much that he decided to cancel all future pay-per-view press conferences effective immediately. www.prowrestling.com/article/news/3136I saw this on another board, and I wondered if it was true. I even checked WWE.com for appearences and they took down the Royal Rumble press conference. I was sort of looking foward to going.

That's a shame, but it's not WWE's fault really.
I mean, they are making bad booking decisions but TNA's the one who started this stupid one sided war and nobody's winning. Not even the fans.

That is total disrespect to the product...I would have no problem for chants during a PPV or show, but to a free, somewhat serious public PPV conference? C'mon...show some maturity.

I normally side with WWe on most things, and find most of TnA's antics as far as anti-wwe petty, but I'd like to see more hijacking from the crowd until Vince finally pulls his head out of his ass and admits that the current product is alienating his fan base....

I heard that WWE was stopping press conferences because they weren't making money off them...
Oh, well.

Which is fine... If they're at a show. The problem is that there doesn't need to be a WWE/TNA war. There never should have been. TNA has, like I stated before, started this war WCW style... And in a way, it would do good to have them eat some humble pie (the same could be said for Vince though).

O I don't want a war either, and one of hte few vehemiently against TnA getting a monday night time slot, I just like seeing the fans agitate Vince.... he could use some humble pie... It's sad, now one of my few joys in wrestling fandom is watching Vince McMahon Fail....

Yeah normally I wouldn't condone chanting TNA at a press conference, but if Vince wanted to show that they were not threatened by TNA, they would let it stand.
I still remember back in 1996 there was a call in show with Todd Pettingill and Michael Hayes. Someone called in and asked if WWE (well, WWF) was afraid that the NWO was gonna take them over too. Pettengill made some stupid comment similar to Coachman's. But then Michael Hayes very calmly and classily said "Look, I will answer that. I am not afraid to acknowledge the NWo or WCW. Right now, WCW is making a big name for themselves off of talent that got famous here in WWF. Hogan, Hall, and Nash are popular right now because of careers they had here. So no, we are not afraid of these men working somewhere else." That wasn't verbatim what he said, but it was along those lines. It really gave the message that WWF was confident enough in itself that it was not afraid to acknowledge the competition.
My point is that WWE should allow the press conferences to continue. If they are so worried that some TNA chants are going to cause them to lose fans, they should strive to make the WWE product better so that they will not have to worry about losing fans because their own show would be so good.

Let me be first to say AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
And second of all, there is no war, WWE is pretty much beating themselves up, while TNA jumps in and takes credit.

It's like the equivalent of Vince sticking his fingers in his ears and yelling "LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA LA LA LA".

Well without Big Show to totally own the crowd and shut them up, it wouldn't have been as entertaining.
Show was awesome at the D2D press conference

But that's the thing, TNA's beating themselves up more than by mocking Double Double E. If WWE actually came back with one comment about TNA, I would think that it would deal a big blow (to both, actually). The thing that bugs me is that TNA acts like they're perfect, when in reality, neither are close.

I don't blame WWE, it's their product, but by doing this you're acknowledging TNA, I'd wager it wouldn't happen all the time. The Armageddon press conference was pretty entertaining and I didn't hear a TNA chant once.

I heard that WWE was stopping press conferences because they weren't making money off them... Oh, well. I don't know, I thought it was going to be free. But it sucks that they're cancelling it.

Have you seen the Hall of Fame stuff on TV? Most wrestling fans that attend shows are idiots. Can't really control that.

I think that's dumb. Who cares. It just gives some of the guys some material to work with, especially the heels.
It sucks because at press conferences, the wrestlers seem to be very unscripted, or just given small bullet points. So I think they help out with improvement.

Who the hell goes to a press conference? All they do is say, "This guy will be facing That guy. Pay $40 to see it on TV."

I won't miss them. Not like anything really important has happened in one of those, except Triple H breakdancing.
