The Pro Wrestling Torch is reporting that Rey Mysterio's contract with WWE is scheduled to expire in May or June of 2008.
When he returns to the company in mid-2007 following his knee surgery, the early word is that WWE management will start to press him to sign a new long-term renewal. Should Mysterio not agree to a new long-term deal, it is very possible that WWE could choose to "job him out" so to speak for a full year before TNA could step up with a deal.
Based on what is known at this time, TNA is very interested in signing Mysterio should he become available.

Umm...why would they job him out? Won't that just convince him to leave?

This just in, Rey may or may not lose matches upon his return.

They'd job him out so if he jumps ship, he looks like a loser when he shows up in impact.

I highly doubt they'd job out one of their top merchandise sellers. Seriously, newz sites report the most obvious things. "Rey will be offered a contract renewal, because he's friggin' Rey Mysterio, and if not he'll go to TNA, or something".

TNA is interested in every single ex-WWE employee as soon as they're released, hell they hired Shannon Moore, didn't they?

He swapped his unbeaten TNA run for a zero victory ECW run. And to top it all off, he's basically burnt down the TNA bridge as well.

Um, they jobbed him out all the time when he was the WORLD FRICKIN' CHAMPION. Why should it matter now if they job him out?

They should pull a crazy swerve where Mysterio actually pins someone.
