Is it true that Big Show could pull this off before he became grotesquely overweight?
I always hear people talk about it, but never saw him bust it out in a match. Was it just a practice thing like Brock's SSP (WM not withstanding)?
Edit to add: Speaking of big man moonsaults, I remember Vader doing kickflips off a brick wall in 1995 WCW, when he+Hogan+MMRS+Flair were training to fight the Dungeon of Doom (before he went AWOL). Did this really happen or is my mind deceiving me?

I heard this as well, someone once told me he had pulled it off in Japan in a match. Brock's SSP was his finisher in OVW, not just a practice move.

Show's moonsault was something he did while at the Power Plant, and might have thrown in a few times early on (never hitting it, of course).
As for Brock's SSP, it wasn't a one time or practice thing, as he did it regularly in OVW.

I'm sure he did it on TV or PPV once in WCW, though I can't recall the details.

Ive seen him be pretty agile in his early WCW days, but I never caught a moonsault.

If he did it, I can imagine it was one of his famous spots that were centered around hurting himself. In ECW he ell through some tables and took a lot of Chokeslam Reversal-DDTs. Around 2001 he used to miss a lot of elbow/leg drops.
I'm just glad we're talking about his in-ring ability after he's retired. I always marked for him.

Should we put the removal of Serious Cat to vote?

He used to be able to do whilst training for WCW but, as you can imagine, not one wanted to take it.

Serious cat would scare away all the John Cena marks in any arena just by looking at them with its serious face. I'm super serial. Excelsior!

I don't remember seeing one. But I'm sure he could have, knowing how agile he was back then.

So he has officially retired?

So he has officially retired? I don't think it's official, but it's close enough. He's not Cena but he's not Hogan.

Even if it is official, it doesn't really change much. A lot of the people that do officially retire come back anyways. In my opinion, by not officially retiring, he's being more honest than the ones who do. And if there is a vote, I vote serious cat stays. It's creepy, but it mezmerizes me in some weird way, and how else are we gonna know if it's a serious thread?
Edit:Wow! I made it to Fake Diesel! Yay me!

Big show was able to do moonsaults when he was training at the WCW Power Plant, though I've never actually seen him do it, I'm sure that he could have.
He did do alot of dropkicks, primarily just to show the audience that he could, but then stopped doing them. I've even seen him do a missle dropkick off of the top rope.
The one thing that gets steriotyped about the Big Show that not many people seem to grasp, is his wrestling style. Giants are supposed to wrestle as such, a Giant. A regular move is suppossed to be a big move when thay do it. One punch, one kick, not many punches and kicks, one elbow drop, or mabe a splash are all big moves that'll hurt the opponent for a 3 count, the're not suppossed to do moves like moonsaults or dropkicks off the top rope.
If Big Show did a moonsault off the top rope, then the guy is suppossed to be dead, not beat. If Show does the moonsault and gets a regular victory withought a stretcher involved, then what's going to happen when say, HBK does a moonsault? the audience is going to expect them to kick out. Or what if someone actually kicked out of Show's moonsault? the next time Super Crazy beats someone with a moonsault the adience will act like they got "screwed".
now I know that someone's likely to bring up the fact that Vader and A-train do moves like these. Sure, they do them, but It dosent necessarily make it the right thing to do. Why do you think that the current style, wich is still dangerous, is considered "Safe Style"? Or why do you think that no one takes move like moonsaults seriously anymore? Big Show stopped doing these moves because he was smart, and wrestled like a giant, like he should. If Big Show dropkicked a guy, and he got up and continued the match, what happens when someone else dropkicks them? No one is going to believe that a 500 lb and a 200 lb dropkick is nearly the same.
The last time I saw Big Show do a dropkick, he beat Chris Beniot in 11 seconds.

Getting dropped kicked by the Big Show is probably just like getting hit by a Geo Metro

A Showsault would be the best thing ever. Still, the first thing they would do is set it up to where Cena would be the first one to kick out. (you know, to build him up) Even if he could do it could you picture being the guy lying prone waiting for it? Now that's fear.

I saw Brock hit a perfect SSP at dark match before Smackdown while teaming with Shelton Benjamin.
I only remember Big Show hitting a top rope drop kick on Viscera some eleventy billion years ago.

i have never believed the big show/moonsault rumor. alot of people believe it, but no one ever saw it. i'm sorry, but if he could do it, he would have done it on tv at least once. and people would remember it. i mean, a 7 foot, 400 lb guy doing a moonsault? not something you are gonna forget. even if he missed. plus, that would have been a great way to set up an injury angle with someone. they woulda found a guy to take it, even if it was only to give the fans something to remember and talk about.

I don't know about the moonsault (I don't doubt he tried it at least once, as EVERYONE tries it in training now), but seeing Big Show do a kip up after taking a perfectplex...my god.
