Just a thought.... it was a dream feud for a long time and its happening now in TNA. It just seems like it feels kind of rushed. Such a dream feud seems like it had more potential to make more money by waiting on it. I guess TNA had to make sure it happened soon in case Angle got injured or returned to WWE.
But what if Angle stayed in WWE and Joe signed with WWE. Completely hypothetically, what would WWE have done with this feud? Wrestlemania or just a random PPV? Would they have done better or worse than TNA has done with the feud? If better, how would they have built it? If worse, how would they have messed it up? Would they have ignored the potential or would they have made more of it?

I actually believe the feud would have been better. WWE, generally, knows when to put it's big money matches.
Now whether the match would have lived up is debatable.

Samoa Joe would be a dancing samoan who loves to party it up and spread grease all over himself
Angle would make him tap in under 5 Minutes in that challenge thing he did.
End of story

^^^ Yep. The only Samoans in the WWE who can't be damaged in the cranial region are those who are related to Afa and Sika.

Well look at Undertaker vs Angle or Finlay vs Regal or Even Regal vs Benoit.
WWE has good matches.

Joe would have been Umaga.
Angle would have pinned him after one headbutt.

I agree on the money matches, WWE can hype like no one else. In this case, the payoff could be worth the hype.

To be fair to TNA, they really rushed this feud due to wanting to make an immediate impact upon hitting prime time.
That isn't to say I agree with them; Angle could've easily been slotted in another feud upon his debut (just rattle any name of the top of your head, and it'd likely have worked for what they needed). But the feud DID get more than a month of buildup before the first match, and it's getting damn good treatment on Impact.
Again, though, I do agree that TNA should've held off on bringing it to us just yet.
As for how it would have gone down in WWE, if we say hypothetically that Joe would be presented seriously in WWE, then I assume it would've gotten some pretty good build, and likely have come off well. Better than TNA? Hard to say; I don't trust WWE booking as far as I can throw Stephanie McMahon.
But well enough to work? I can see that.

As much as we can dislike WWE's booking, it's hard to deny they sure CAN hype a match/feud and make the people want to watch it.
It happened with mediocre feuds and with passable matches, so a long-awaited showdown between two fan favourites like Samoa Joe and Angle would be 99.99999% a huge success.
I'd take WWE's over-the-top hype over TNA style anyday, even if that would mean having a couple of cool moves less...
And to those doubting WWE's ability to not screw up dream matches, well... Angle-HBK wasn't that bad wasn't it?

I don't think I'd be able to look past Joe being Umaga Version 2. Or his moveset being slashed.

How do we know? Honestly?
Does Jamal have an ability equal to Joe?
The same thing was said about CM Punk and he's turned out fine so far.

I don't think Samoa Joe would be buried in the 'e. He's a huge guy, they have tried to sign him before, and he's buddies with Cena.
So yeah, I think Joe vs Angle would have been better in WWE. Would be a better buildup, and in front of a good sized crowd it would feel more like a big time match. It was very anticlimactic in TNA, though I haven't watched their second encounter yet.

Just my opinion but I think they should have had Kurt come in as a face and have Joe interrupt one of his first few promos and it would be about respect and admiration for each other. They could have ended up teaming together for several months and teasing a breakup at times, then after a year together they would finally break up and end up feuding with promos, never laying a hand on one another. Look at Hogan and Sting. Sting stalked him from the rafters for OVER one year and it was huge when Sting finally stepped foot in the ring. Not a good match but incredible build. Thats how all big money feuds should be. Let it play out with neither competitor even touching each other besides a handshake for a match agreement.

I honestly don't think WWE could have done it better, asides from being too early it was perfect. Even how Angle headbutted him on their first confrontation & I doubt they'd be allowed have the series they're having.

I don't think I'd be able to look past Joe being Umaga Version 2. Or his moveset being slashed. Muscle Buster? Maybe... Chops? Flair owns those (even though his are weak as crap). STF? That's Cena's move. Cross Face? Benoit's got dibs. Stiff Kicks? Joe's not Asian. Only Asians throw kicks like that in WWE. Kokina Clutch? They'd probably let him keep that. Island Driver? No F'N Way!!!

Leaves us with Face Wash, ST-Joe, Snap Powerslam & a few that I'm forgetting from his signature moveset.

No F'N Way!!! Chops: Flair, Michaels, Benoit, to a lesser extent Big Show, Jericho when he was there. They wouldn't care. Island Driver: How often does he even do this move in TNA? Stiff Kicks: Am I supposed to take that one seriously? Other ones: Probably right. Question about Terkay's muscle buster: Was that his finisher before he was called up, or did they stick him with it because of Joe?
