I've been watching quite a few WrestleManias from the past 6 years or so on DVD, and something struck me as to why 17, 18, and 19 felt more special. With the AstroDome, SkyDome, and Safeco Field, respectively, the events felt larger than life. The atmosphere is amazing, and the title matches and big fued blowoff matches feel all the more epic. Hosting WrestleMania XX at MSG made sense, that's THE WWE arena, and the 20th anniversary of the event. But then 21 and 22 were held in arenas that you would see RAW held in on a regular basis, and WrestleMania lost alot of it's larger-than-life aura.
Sorry for the mini-rant, but it's just something that's bothered me. With this year's Mania being held at Ford Field, I'm really excited that the show will likely be able to recapture that awesome once-a-year atmosphere that should come with WrestleMania.

I always remember being horrifyed that WM9 only had 12-16,000 people there; heck, maybe less. That was NOT a WrestleMania crowd. If anything, a smaller crowd like the last few is indicative of the times the company is in. If they think they can get a big arena, they book a big arena; if not, they don't and suffer with the smarks' bad PR...

WM's 17 thru 19 also had an "epic" lineup, even for their time:
WM 17: Austin vs Rock II, TLC II, HHH vs Taker, Shane vs Vince WM 18: Rock vs Hogan, HHH vs Jericho, Flair vs Taker, Austin vs Scott Hall (at the time it was considered somewhat "epic") WM 19: Angle vs Lesner, Hogan vs Vince, HBK vs Jericho, HHH vs Booker T, Austin vs Rock III
The "rumored" WM 23 matches are:
Cena vs HHH, 'Taker vs Batista, Hogan vs Show, Foley vs Vince, Kali vs Lashley
I don't know about anyone else, but looking at those cards on paper, the WM 23 seems very weak and less "epic" than the other three. Yes, the arena's and stadiums have something to do w/ the event itself being memorable and "epic", but I think a great deal more of the actual product in the ring is the cause.

Too many PPV's have reduced WrestleMania's "mega event" image.

Wait, why is Cena vs. Triple H rumoured? What was so epic about their last match to grant them another main event slot?

Wait, why is Cena vs. Triple H rumoured? What was so epic about their last match to grant them another main event slot? Triple H impregnated the bosses daughter, that's why.
