It should start an "old vs new" fued like i have been seeing the idea around here. RVD complains that in the old days the wuss champ would not get to win on a countout or being injured. It all goes from there. I agree, I think Old vs New ECW would actually be a very compelling feud. So many people are going to naturally compare the new ECW to the original, so why not go there? I like the idea of RVD badmouthing Lashley and saying stuff like "Back in the day, we had a REAL champ" or something like that. The problem is, WWE would have to allow the ECW originals to actually look like a threat and that isn't likely. Even though the new ECW should obviously win the feud in the end, they would need to let the Originals get in some good shots and look like a threat. Like maybe they could have a standard match between CM Punk and the Sandman. Punk would be wrestling his technical style, and suddenly Sandman would go "old school ECW" on him and bust out the barb wire bat or something.

Like the Invasion, its too good/easy of an idea so you know WWE would ruin it

Dude, McMahon is out of touch. In ONS I and II they were some incredible hardcore matches, old School ECW level even! But in his vision of ECW is that of Test wielding a rubber bat.

If you look closely, RVD's arm was wrapped in barbed wire and thumbtacks.

that ending was indeed, piss weak. if you want to do a double countout, just do it. you want to throw the stretcher ending at the fans, you'd better do something stretcher worthy. i'll bet they're showing wwecw in japan with funny voice overs... like mxc. and it's probably more entertaining.

The move was really cool. I thought that was just a high spot, and RVD was gonna get back up, point his thumbs and bring Lashley back in the ring.
What happened with Balls was legit, he may've literally had a broken jaw, and there was no way Balls could continue that match. So when they did that, and got the bullshit chants and everything, they're just really hurting the ECW product now.

I thought Thron crushed his throat or something. But a broken jaw is likely. I thought I saw one of his teeth fly out.

I haven't seen a worse ending since the Blair Witch movie! lol. This ECW is going down in 2007, after Heyman the new ECW has become worse, before it was bad.

That's my god damn point, actually. It's hackneyed sarcasm and the only people who use leet are the ones making caustic one liners like 'OMGZ !!111!'

It should have ended with RVD being disqualified for standing on the top rope for a 5 count. =P
That would be EXXXXTREME

How do you make Lashley fans happy? Have Lashley win!
How do you make RVD fans happy? Have RVD win!
How do you make absolutely none of the fans happy? Have neither of them win!
I don't recall refs stopping matches for moves that are too hardcore most of the time when wrestlers get legitimately injured, like Angle being concussioned (accidentally) at Summerslam or Austin breaking his neck at... Summerslam... none the less fake injured. Sorry, that was a poorly planned and executed ending to what was actually a decent match.
ECW... Extremely Crappy Wrestling... Lawler had to be right one of these days.
