I was watching the AWA DVD and I noticed that in the introductions the ring announcer made, he'd repeat the last name much like how Ken Kennedy does it. Does Kennedy do that as a spoof?
If not, then where the pee did it come from?

In the old days, almost all ring announcers used to do the schtick he is doing now. Take note of the old shool style microphone dropping from the rafters ala Howard Finkel at old MSG cards.

I always assumed he does it because A) he's spoofing the thing you mentioned or B) his name is "Ken(nedy) Kennedy", so he says both his first name and surname.
It's a good thing his middle name isn't Kennedy too.

He did it when he was Ken Anderson to If you listened to his online interview with The Sun, he said that came from The Matrix and Agent Smith's 'Mr Anderson' thing. That presumably is why he's MR Kennedy insetad of Ken Kennedy. As for the repeating the name, I always assumed it was an imitation/parody of the old boxing ring introductions.

Kenedy says he use to do that when he was an announcer for high school football, when he introduced a player he would do that with his name like John Smith..............................Smith. So that became his trademark and that's why he does it in the WWE cause nobody else ever did their own introduction.
