www.bolt.com/DgenereationX12/video/wwe2000_royal_rumble/2592184My favorite line is J.R. calling Rikishi a 'load'. Truer words have never been spoken. I'm a little confused as to why Rikishi eliminated so many damn guys (including Blackman and Christian ... boo!), but I didn't watch wrestling in 2000, so maybe he was a major player then? I'm unsure. Enjoy, regardless.

I posted this about a quarter through. The start is pretty weak, but we get Gangrel, Chris Jericho and BOB BACKLUND in short order.

I'm unsure. This made him a major player, basically. He was semi-teaming with Too Cool for a month or so before this (they wanted to team with him and he wasn't too thrilled about it), and it was really getting over with the crowd. While I remember being kinda bummed the lower-tier guys were tossed out of the match because they didn't think enough big-name people were in the lineup, I did love that they managed to get them all back in there with cheap run-ins. Constantly reshowing Taka's "boink!" made me laugh a lot.

Is this the Rumble where poor Taka broke every bone in his face? Or was that later?

He actually suffered a seperated shoulder from it but because his face hit down they made it seem like it was a concussion though it was not.

Rikishi was super over in 2000, with Too Cool and this match proved that.
X-Pac taking a sick bump to the floor and then jumping right back up was one of those WTF moments for me.
And technically Big Show did win the Rumble, as Rock's feet did hit the floor first which led to that promo he cut in that whiny voice about "Rock's feet hit the maaaaaaat".

Rikishi was mega over back then. He lost all that momentum during the "I DID IT...FOR THE ROCK" heel turn, but he was definitely a big time face back then.

Is it just me or did Test get a really loud pop? He sure did. That was not long after Stephanie and HHH hooked up onscreen and basically, with DX, punked him out. So I'd call that a "sympathy pop" as it was because "Hey, he got screwed over by HHH and evil Steph!" That pop was gone a month or so later when he had the Hardcore title for a couple weeks and then teamed with Albert & Trish...

Bring back the Grandmaster SEXXXXAY! Reunite 2 Cool. I APPROVE! I love how blatently obvious King makes it that Brian is his son. The random 2 Cool dance in the middle is one of my biggest rumble mark out moments XD
