Certainly the greatest surprise debut in WWE history.

Surprise debut? Theres signs in the crowd saying "Jericho Millennium Man" so it wasn't much of a surprise, just a huge markout moment that we all saw coming.

I wasn't an internet fan at this point and luckily I just failed to notice any signs in the crowd. I was certainly surprised when Jericho came from behind the curtain. Good days.

Wow, he got buried by the Rock in he debut.
then went on to feud with Shamrock and Roaddogg with The Fink as his manager.
I hate to say it, but his debut wasn't so great, it was even announced on WWF.com and ChrisJericho.com
Though, I'll admit, I watched my tape of it many times.

Definitely one of the best debuts of all-time.
I read about it in the Torch that Jericho was on his way in, but I didn't think it would be this over.
And, of course it was in Chicago. All the good stuff happens there. Which gives me an idea for a new thread.

Yes, and that´s hte thing I love about Jericho. He was buried lots and lots of times in his WWE stint(He even jobbed to Cena. Granted, he was on his way out, but if he wasn´t, he would job the same way. To me is a retarded bussniess decision have your most charismatic wrestler co-interacte with mr. "Y2Cheap".) but he still managed to get over.

I didn't become internet savvy till 2000, so this was a huge surprise and markout moment for me. It's a bit depressing to see how great Raw was then, and how it is now. The crowd will never pop like that again, unless the Rock made an appearance (doubtful).

Man that debut is still amazing to this day, the pop for Jericho was sick.

The Rock and Jericho always had good chemistry. This was a great debut but after that I was surprised the Rock and Jericho didn't have a program until 2001. That was a great series of matches though.

I have to admit I didnt even know who Chris Jericho was at the time. I just remember thinking "Man, this guy must be really good if he gets this kind of response"

This was an AWESOME moment. That pop was HUGE, and like someone said, in retrospect, I'm surprised that the Rock and Jericho weren't thrown into a program together after the chemistry they showed there.
AWESOME STUFF!
