CENA LOST TWO MATCHES TONIGHT. God man hes the WWE champion and over half of the guys he went against werent even wrestlers. It's okay for the main draw in the company once in a while to look dominate.

You're right, it's ok for him to look dominate once in awhile. He should! I've just failed to see any time where it's been limited to ONCE IN AWHILE. And for the 100th time, he is not the company's biggest draw.

I remember a time when Austin took on fifteen guys and destroyed them all. This is nothing in comparison. Except that was actually fun to watch and not boring.

But at least once a month if not more he's in an "odds against him" and he dominates. It's bad when you're the odds on favorite to overcome the odds.

Every time they fight Cena's either beaten him or stood up to him toe to toe. I don't think once he's laid Cena out (last night was a very weak layout.) And Champion of Champions was a triple threat where he only lost because of interference from Nitro and Federline.

The odds are never against John Cena. As a matter of fact, the odds are agains the rest of the WWE all the time just because Cena is there! Cena is to WWE as Chuck Norris is to the Entire Animal Kingdom... untouchable.

And Champion of Champions was a triple threat where he only lost because of interference from Nitro and Federline. Do you think that if Austin, or Rock, or Triple H, or Kurt Angle, or Chris Jericho, or any other popular face were in Cena's position in that match that they would have lost clean though? I don't see how Cena having been cheated the loss makes any difference in the debate. I mean I agree that Cena has been kind of booked predictably, but in that instance I don't have a single problem with how the situation was handled, and I love the fact that KING BOOKAHHHH took the win and will forever be known as champion of champions. I have to admit that the last few months I have been rooting against Cena just for the sake of surprise, against Edge, against Angle, against Jericho, I like Cena and I find him entertaining but I don't like him enough to root for him to be champion all the time and win all the time, it was the same for when Austin was champ, I love Austin but more often than not he was never too challenged by anything and it became a tad predictable. But I'll also admit that this feud with Umaga has probably been the most balanced feud Cena's been in for a while and I'm actually not sure who's gonna win at NYR, and I WILL actually be rooting in Cena's favor for a very nice change.

I didn't read this whole thread, but I wanted to put some comments in.
A lot of people use main event comparisons like Austin, Rock and others. And it's true, but Austin and Rock also knew the right time to sell and when to look weak.
I was watching the 2001 Royal Rumble, and I will compare it to Taboo Tuesday 2005. Big Show comes in and kills everyone. Rock low blows Big Show and punches him out. Now, if it were John Cena, he would do it fairly and then eliminate the guy. But Rock had to low blow the Big Show, because if he didn't, he would have been killed just like everyone else in the ring. Just little things like that. Now, here's the main comparison.
Royal Rumble 2001: Big Show takes The Rock out of the ring, beats the crap out of him and slams him through a table.
Taboo Tuesday 2005: Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels double team John Cena and put him through a table.
Royal Rumble 2001: The Rock sells for awhile and slowly makes his way back in the ring. It looks like he's got everything back and goes to work on Kane. His punches are relatively slow though. Undertaker comes in, gives him one punch, and Rock goes down and is still in the sell.
Taboo Tuesday 2005: John Cena sells the table, slowly struggles his way back into the ring and starts his comeback at the wrong part of the match. He is very quick, beating up both Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle, two legendary wrestlers and former World Champions. Cena cleans their clocks until he is thrown out of the ring.
There we see the difference. I think other things to take into consideration though is Rock at the time had more experience and also had the benefit of having his father be in the wrestling buisness. Cena also I feel is booked in that way where they desparately want him to be like a Hulk Hogan type of character.
All the top babyfaces ever can beat up 5 guys at once. But what seperates Hogan, Rock and Austin from Cena is they knew exactly when to sell, when not to sell, and when to take their comeback. Cena has gotten better at doing this I will say, but I think the fact that they still do these against the odds matches hurts Cena.
Cena has gotten better, but the booking is now what is hurting him. Because with guys like Rock and Austin, you believed there was a chance they would lose, especially The Rock, because he would lose. He went on Larry King Live and said he would rather lose. I remember they had a tag team match with Rock & Jericho vs Booker T and Rhino. In that match, Rock laid down for Rhino. Today, if Cena was in that match, he would go over, and you knew it. In this one, you didn't, because Rock and Jericho knew how to sell. Jericho's only problem was he didn't let things bother him that much, so it hurt him as a babyface a bit.
