Coincidence or not, DX have stopped doing comedy bits since the VKM angle on TNA mocking them has become more prominent. That won't disappoint Shawn Michaels, who has been outspoken against the skits at production meetings and with agents. Kevin Dunn is among those in power who have found the skits hilarious, so Michaels has been in effect a reluctant, embarrassed participant.

I remember hearing this, and I originally felt that DX wasn't going to act the way they did mostly because of HBK's and HHH's characters at the time.
I don't think it has that much to do with VKM though I feel, I think a change is generally needed to stay fresh. Plus if Michaels showing expressing concern, it's best to try to make talent happy if they want to do their best at something.

I've been damn surprised since the beginning with just how far HBK has gone with all of this. I mean he hasn't done anything completely risque but seeing ANY other christian involved in even one of the skits he has been doesn't seem possible.

I find it funny (ha ha) that a man who wrestled with God as his tag-team partner, and had his faith mocked openly as part of an angle, would so strongly object to a couple of booby and fart jokes every week.
Apparently, using the Lord to get PPV buyrates is OK, but the DX midget isn't.
Super logic there, HBK.

I thought HBK enjoyed the Garth Algar bits. He looked so enthusiastic.

Now all they have to do is convince Vince McMahon all of the comedy, or I should say alleged comedy should be out of his shows. Wrestling should not be a 2 hour bad (very bad) sit com.

Well from a character standpoint it's not like Michaels did anything wrong, it was Vince McMahon who assigned the match, Michaels just had to deal with it. Michaels didn't do anything against his will, it was Vince McMahon doing it, and with the DX skits he was more directly involved with the poop and boob jokes which would explain his being uncomfortable. But either way news reports like this are useless and it surprises me how seriously they're taken sometimes, I'm sure this information is either false or highly exaggerated, and I'm MORE than sure VKM isn't a factor in how DX is being used. And if you're not down with that I got 3 syllables for ya: IN-TER-NET

How can you expect someone with no smile to enjoy doing comedy bits anyway?

I really can't stand it when this topic comes up because everyone feels the need to rip into HBK because they feel like they know exactly how HBK feels and that they are more suited to make the decisions for HBK.

Okay, since the comedy skits are stopping, can we maybe get Michaels a character-adjustment? It's been 5 months since the return of DX, and I'm still perplexed and irritated at how Shawn Michaels went from being that guy who kicked Vince McMahon's ass at WrestleMania to Triple H's wacky sidekick.

Exactly, if we're gonna put down HBK in that regard we might as well lose respect for CM Punk as well, because if he's so straight edge why would he let Raven and Dreamer pour booze down his throat during the Raven/Punk feud in ROH?

good, their funny stuff was missing the funny part anyway Eh I thought it was hit and miss with mostly miss, some moments were good (Cyber-Sunday Pre-fight segment wherin Stan gets Kicked, and Shipping the Spirit Squad to OVW), but not enough to justify it going any further.

I might be able to get into serious DX more, just hopefully they don't dominate all the time as much
