What's the deal with Alex Wright? He was always pretty awesome when not saddled with a goth reject gimmick, and looks like the kind of guy that Vince would push.. So what's the deal? Did he not want to work for WWE after WCW blew up or was he one of the dudes that Vince refused to employ, or what?

i think he had like a $100,000 contract for a long term, so he didnt need to work as he was being paid for nothing.

I belive at one point he was talking to the WWF about a jump from WCW and DDP convinced him that WCW was a better bet..... what a good friend to have.

I actually kinda liked Alex Wright.
If Im not mistaken, he had some health issues right when he was due to be pushed semi hard in WCW sometime in 96-97

He has a brain aneurysm... instead of bringing him back as a success story, he was berlyn and a dancing fool

I liked Alex. He was solid as a prettyboy good guy and pretty good as the too-cool heel also. I stopped watching WCW around when Berlyn started showing up, but I assume that it was pure shit. It certainly LOOKED like it.

He was an awesome heel.
And I mean when he still had the pretty boy gimmick, not Berlyn.

He'll never work for WWE. Didn't he beat Trips clean in the first PPV match for either one of them? Yeah ... I don't think we'll see him again.

I marked for Alex. Shame that he isn't wrestling in the Americas anymore.

It was a gothic style gimmick. He used to sit in the crowd wearing a black trenchcoat and mowak. After Columbine, they changed it to Berlyn wear he was a basically just an evil guy from germany. He only spoke in German and had a translator, uda or something like that. He also led to the debut of The Wall

It was more "Arrogant Eurotrash" than Goth. The translator was gold. They knew he spoke English, but he just refused to.
