Sorry folks about the other thread.
Who are the greatest WWF/WWE wrestler to never ever win the top damn belt of that promotion?
Many would say DiBiase, Piper, Scott Hall, Regal (ok thats my pick) and they are great picks but I would also suggest Brian Pillman (he was on the rise for it), British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith (early 1990s he was smokin, and imagine that PPV Triple Threat Title Family Reunion Bret/Owen/Smith match we never quite got), and my personal pick....
Ricky THE DRAGON Steamboat. Why WWF and Vince wouldn't let him run with the belt, I'll never know.
Hell, The Million Dollar Man deserved it to.

The other image is broken but I definitely agree with the Million Dollar Man. I honestly believed wrestling was real back in those days and I remember being mad as hell that the "WWF President" stripped him of the title after he bought it from Andre. To me that was a legitimate business transaction and Jack Tunney had no right to interfere.

How could I forget him? And I would add Owen Hart too, but if he hadn't died, at best he would have been given a 30 day transitional reign as reward for his work for the company....hell, we could have gotten more "knock his leg right out under his leg" promos for my laughs.

There's an urban legend that Owen was meant to become "The Game" and a run as champion.

To me that was a legitimate business transaction and Jack Tunney had no right to interfere. Oh yeah. Then again, I was sorta buzzed that Andre finally wins the belt, only to sell it. Anyway... Still, I think WWE should hire Jed Shaffer as a booker or writer or something. Seriously, his proposed (if for fun) alternative booking schemes give me the wrestling marking that the WWE lacks for me these days.

There's an urban legend that Owen was meant to become "The Game" and a run as champion. I've heard that too, but who knows. What I do know was, at the time of his death, Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett were over with the crowds with the stupid Blue Blazer schtick, that worked in a seriously silly way this side of the F.B.I.

Owen's definitely on my list as well. As is Steamboat. And hell, so is Jake the Snake, who of course gets the distinction of being the best wrestler to not win any belts in WWF/E.

Piper: I think he should have had at least a title run up until Wrestlemania 2, if I had to rebook any Wrestlemania main event it would have been that one. Hogan vs Piper for the title
Rude: I heard he was never given a WWE title push cause Hogan said he wasnt good enough
Dibiase and Steamboat: Still cant see Dibiase winning the title during the height of Hulkamania but he gave it a good run. Steamboat for certain if he wasnt the family guy image he ended up becoming. Thank Bonnie for that!

honestly, most of u wont agree.....but ahmed johnson show me another than that size besides take that cant do a swan dive over the top rope. he was one of the greats who had a wwe run cut short by someone wanting him to put over a damn woman. who really gets asked to sell a punch from chyna?

Actually, it was because he kept getting injured and injuring other people. If he'd been a safer worker, he would have been a lock (as the crowd loved him). A lot of the classic names have been dropped, but I'll go with my pick for Al Snow. Dude could just never get pushed right, but he could get what he was saddled up with over. I thought he was a fantastic talent who was entirely unused. I also vote for Bill Demott, who was a fantastic big man saddled with another weak gimmick. And though he never wrestled WWE, I would have love to see Disco Inferno with the WCW world title.

I loved Bulldog, but honestly he was never so over enough that I thought he should win the top strap. That said, I was sure he was going to win it in WCW.
And to the man who said Ahmed Johnson, I was CONVINCED as a kid that he was going to win the belt but he couldn't stay healthy.

No one mentioned Bulldog? For shame... I did (and if I didn't, I meant to)...and in the early 90s, he could have so cut it.
