i really want something to come of this. wrestling is a screwed up business at the moment. it's kind of sad that it will take something this major for people to say "seriously, we need to clear up wrestling". vince should just say to his wrestlers, "anyone who's on drugs, get off them in a month, or you're fired.", and have monthly tests, all of which are dealt with really seriously, no matter if you're a jobber or a world champ, which would take the drugs out. then, ease up on the house show schedule a bit. wrestlers are working their entire lives, and everyone needs a day off. if there are any wrestlers who are depressed (there have been in the past, doubtlessly there are now), give them therapy. look at randy ortons destruction of a hotel room. all he got was a (fairly light) punishment. no one tried to find out exactly what made randy decide to wreck this room for no apparent reason. how do we know he hasn't got serious problems?
wrestling is really scummy at them moment, and vince mcmahon is one of the few people who can change that.

Absolutely, things need to change, i just dont think a Union is the way forward. Some simple contractual changes as i outlined is, i believe, all that's needed. However, in between stock holder meetings, network meetings and meetings with any kind of union - I could see Vince jacking it in and retiring himself alot earlier than i bet he ever planned to! I don't. If anything, I see him having the Hitler Complex. That is, if he is going down for the count in defeat....the WWE goes with him. Well, if he did that, tbh, i would have respect for him for not backing down. That's not to say i condone his actions, just that i would respect him for destroying his company and his life rather than see it become something federally regulated or held to ransom by socialism.

You know, I am a socialist, so it's not like I would have a problem with it, but I've never seen professional sports team owners or movie studios being held ransom by socialism. But hey..you see it one way, (being held ransom), and I see it another (extending democracy into the workplace and the economy). Someone who is anti union/socialism probably won't have too much to agree with someone with the general politics of Noam Chomsky, and that's fine. But that's an issue for a different thread; hell..a different forum. .

Lol, so very true.
However it is interesting to see that what i see some 'grown up' chat for a bit, makes me feel less guilty for being 22, a newly qualified teacher and still into wrestling and such. Good Job.

Hey, I have deeply held beliefs that I've developed through a lot of study, thought and comparison to other theorys. However, that will never give me the right to not give people of other beliefs and opinions the same rights and respect that I expect for my own.
