- The internal feeling was that Johnny Nitro wasn't a serious ring name. Dusty Rhodes, Jen Hunt, Dave Lagana, among others, suggested new names to Vince McMahon. McMahon, of course, selected John Morrison.
- from Zack Sands: On tomgreen.com tonight, Mr. Kennedy will be live with Tom. Show usually runs around 1 hour and is completely uncensored. Should be a fun show.

Johnny Nitro was a very good ring-name IMO.
Certainly less mundane than "Morrison" and an impersonation gimmick.

John Morrison sounds like the name of a CPA. It doesn't strike me as any better or worse a ring name than Johnny Nitro. And if Johnny Nitro was such a bad ring name, why has he been using it for 2+ years.

I can kind of understand what they were getting at, but how does a name like Johnny Nitro sound less like a serious ring name than "Dusty Rhodes"?

Johnny Nitro is a flashy name, pretty synonymous with wrestling.
John Morrison is fine I suppose, but not exactly heads and tails better. Its easy to turn into John Moron.

In all honesty Johnny Nitro was my favorite wrestler name. I do agree that his MNM attire had to go and I do like is new look but he should've kept the name, and this new "poetic" lingo he's using needs to go it doesn't fit with his voice.

he already was johnny blaze, briefly but he was. Yup. The very next week he told Bischoff he changed his last name to Nitro to honor WWE's GM. It was not long after that he disappeared off TV for a long time and when he came back he was in MNM. |

Johnny Nitro is an awesome ring name, even if you change Johnny to john.
If he completely embraces a Jim Morrison style, in terms of talking, music, style, ill be pissed, because impersonating a famous person is not a long term thing
