I think it was WWE management trying to stamp it's authority, it knows that it's under huge pressure because of the steroids and decided to let off some steam by firing two guys who I don't think deserved it. It also shows the double standard between the mid carders and main eventers. Mid carders can get fired at will for no obvious reason, main eventers can do what they want with no censure.

Why do people think Randy wasn't punished? He was fined by more than half his salary and had to be put on probation. He didn't harm anyone unlike Cryme Tyme and he did apologize for his actions.
I think people who are saying that the WWE is wrong in firing them just wants justification to hate the WWE imo.

Well... being fined money, and put on probation is a different thing entirely from being released from the company. I think what a lot of people are saying is that if anything, Cryme Tyme should have been fined, but not fired. Besides, the things that Orton did in the past were not necessarily brought on by someone else's actions. Yeah, Orton is clearly higher up in the company than Cryme Tyme, and some people see it as a form of preferential treatment. I mean when one group acts on what they feel is not right, they get fired. But when another guy repeatedly screws up backstage, (and apologizes for it) he's ok, and gets a moderately light slap on the wrist. Still, I say wait for all the facts to come out in the open. Just right now, it seems like a trivial reason to release a popular tag-team when apparently none involved were hurt badly.

I voted yes. They screwed up, had a chance to make it right, and refused to do so. Good riddance. Yep. From what's available, they're release was motivated by their backstage attitude more than their in-ring actions against the ref. The WWE really had no choice, unless they wanted their backstage to resemble the later days of WCW.

People who have worked for a company longer are generally considered more valuable and can get away with more. This is true of any company. Why would WWE be any different?

Randy Orton is still with the company, JBL is still with the company, so why shouldn't Cryme Tyme be? Seniority. And the fact that those two guys can actually wrestle. TNA has an open door for Cryme Tyme. They'll do great over there. It'll be all right.

WCW's main problem was a few main eventers running roughshod over the lower carders, and making sure they stayed on top.

As for Randy Orton comparisons...of course he is gonna get better treatment than most of the roster because he is higher up then them. If Peyton Manning and Jim Sorgi both went buckwild on a hotel room guess who's getting a slap on the rist and who is getting cut. Peyton and Randy both have more on their shoulders and the Colts/WWE have more to lose if they are bereft of them. Not saying its right, but hey... Of course - and it goes beyond sports. If this was a car dealership, and one of you big sellers was caught smoking weed with some new employee that hasn't accomplished much yet, the big seller is going to come out ahead. It's the real world. I can only guess that this message board skews somewhat young, and maybe hasn't been out in the job market yet.

3. They risked the life of an untrained official to get themselves over. You don't take risks like that when you were not told to. maybe you missed the part where they said all referees are trained wrestlers. they can take bumps better than kane can.

Cryme Tyme may or may not have gotten fired for running a dog fighting ring.

Considering they were getting over and they (apparently) were not part of any wellness-policy violations, I'm really surprised they were fired. Considering the crowd reactions they were getting as of late, TNA should be licking their chops. Although I wonder if "money money yeah yeah" is trademarked yet?

They should have been suspended for a cooling off period then a "closed door" meeting with all five participants.

Yes, they should have been let go. Not because they allegedly pulled a rib on a ref at a house show, but because they suck. I think so, at least.
