10 minutes dedicated to that on a PPV show. Let's see that meant people had to pay about 75 cents to see that segment.(2 hours for 10 bucks)
a guy in the audience held up a sign that said, "WHO CARES?" that best describes that segment.

I also liked the "Total Nonstop Action has officially stopped" sign.

Thats a silly way to do it. Order a two hour, 45 minute WWE PPV for 40 bucks and add up how much time is devoted to commercials for WWE products/PPVs/movies/whatever, that sucks. Great promo, IMO. Ive always been a fan of Schiavone.

I agree that Tony gets way too much flack for that comment. He felt awful for saying it afterwards; I'm pretty sure Mick Foley said in Have A Nice Day! that the two spoke that same night and Tony apologized profusely for it.

It was in "Foley Is Good" actually.

Tony Schiavone should be on smackdown and replace michael cole, that would be awesome. imagine "bad ass" tony with JBL. that would be some hillarious commentary.

I like Tony Schiavone. It makes me sad to hear that Bobby Heenan didn't like him, Mike Tenay didn't like him, etc. On the air, he was usually great, when, as someone else noted, properly motivated. He'd shill for it being the greatest night in the history of the sport more and more often as he lost more and more interest. There were points when he'd turn into J.R. or Solie and spout off the last fifteen times the opponents met, the outcomes, the dates, locations, titles held, etc., then he'd call every move of the match instead of shilling for the next PPV or what shirt Sting might be wearing that night. Those nights just got fewer and fewer.

Good find. I like "Mid-Life Crisis" Schiavone. Plus, he was really good before 1997 or so, before he began losing credibility with the audience at a faster pace than current Joey Styles.
