Based on Nielsen's Fast National Numbers, last night's edition of Friday Night Smackdown scored a 2.6 broadcast rating. The final numbers should be available in the next few days.
Gerweck.net
Up 0.1 from last week.
So it looks like Raw was the only wrestling show to lose ratings this week.
Hmm....

Is 2.6 good? I never know these things. It's alright, especially for network television where ratings are calculated differently. So SmackDown actually had a better rating than Raw this week, I think. But SmackDown has been averaging 2.6 for what seems like an eternity now.

But considering the RAW ratings, I think SD! not dipping is a good thing. Then again, was it me or was SD! sorta pointless to watch after that really good/great tag match?

As long as they stay in the 2.6-3.0 range, they're doing good. It really shows what people really want to see when it comes to pro wrestling now on national television. Raw's ratings have been plumeting, but Smackdown's stay in the same range. What it's showing is people are losing interest in the Raw brand, because they don't need to watch it to keep up with the WWE. It's a separate brand from Smackdown, and people get to watch their favourites on Smackdown, without having to watch Raw to catch them.
It shows that the WWE is not in trouble, just Raw. And ECW as well. But Smackdown is still a ratings kingpin, especially for Friday Nights. Usually Friday Nights is known as the day where Tv shows go to die, yet Smackdown has become one of the exceptions to that rule.

Is 2.6 good? I never know these things. It's not bad at all, especially once they break down the demographics. Advertisers love the ratings for males 16-40 that SD get.

I remember when I used to watch Smackdown. I also remeber when it was considered a bad week to get 3.5 in the ratings.

Monday had the Indians vs. Yankees match, so it was all Lawler's fault for endorsing the Indians.

Smackdown's rating is higher because its the only original programming (other than seasonal sports) that airs on Friday on a network. Hence its gonna be more stable than Raw. Also it doesn;t have the stupid Hornswoggle storyline to leave a bad taste in people's mouth (the "big reveals" on Raw have been pretty lame this year).
