I was just thinking of these 2 today. I watched Trip's WM 17 match with Taker. I remember being a huge HHH mark at the time. So, anything he did was automatically greatness. I wish I had the formation of the 2 man power trip on tape....

At the time, I figured HHH would eventually turn face and feud with Austin

I liked it, it was a fesh idea, in the back of my head I said no way they get all the straps, then it happens. They played the heel card so well, it was just great.

As sad as it was with HHHs torn quad, I was somewhat pleased they gave the belts to Jericho/Benoit as a stepping stone to elevate both of them into the Main Event.
For the 2-Man Power Trip, that was one of the best angles, only topped by Kurt's goofy face and Austin's overall heel run in '01.
The surreality of Vince/Austin/HHH all being heated allies was just unreal and their effective workrate just made it one of my favorite stables of all-time.

The TMPT was the perfect stroke of genius at the time of their formation. Two of the top men in the company, taking out anyone in their path, male or female, mid-card or main-event. It was like a smaller version of the nWo (the Hogan, Nash, Hall version only, not the watered down version). They would obliterate everyone and have the ultimate feud with either Taker/Kane (which did happen), Jericho/Benoit (which also happened albeit briefly), or on a better stroke they would face Rock/Angle, thus giving Angle a great chance to run with the ball as a face.
But the quad had to tear....smurf it!!!

The attack on the Hardyz where the Hardyz win but are then savagely beaten, and Lita throws her body ontop of Matt to try to protect him, is in my opinion undoubtedly THE BEST WRESTLING SEGMENT OF ALL TIME.
That is all.

they were awesome. they did everything a heel should do, only times a million. their matches were great (the benicho one, for example), their promos were great, and genuinely believed that they could and would do anything. you would tune in just to see what they'd do next. the feud with the hardyz was incredible, just because of the way lita was used in that thing. i don't think that you really could do something like that again, unless cena turns when he gets back, and sides with a heel triple h (you could turn triple h by having both of them turn on someone at the same time), but i don't know if anyone is a strong enough face to be cheered over tripsy and cena, but that would be the ideal situation.

The two man power trip was awesome and definately how Rated RKO should have been booked, instead of being squahed by Shawn Michaels in a handicap match.

Awesome team. Kind of like the heel version of the Mega Powers.
After HHH turned his quad though, Austin's heel character really flopped (although it showed us a comedy side I never knew he had).

That is all. It is certainly the most memorable for me. It was the only time I was truly emotionally invested in a segment on a wrestling show other than the time Foley won his first WWE title. And I have it on DVD ;D
