They need to bring AAE back fast.
I think the savage act is getting old, there's only so much you can milk it for. I mean, he's the number 2 heel on raw (or 3rd if you think highly of Kennedy) but he doesn't have any real personality. Estrada was an excellent manager for him, but they switched him to ECW.
I know a lot of people like him because he reminds them of the OTT wrestling characters of the eighties, but he's simply too much of a cartoon character right now. Are we supposed to believe he acts like that in his real life?
thoughts? Do you even think his character needs improving?

At this point, his wrestling speaks for itself. He could beat up anybody, and the crowd will buy it without question.

I merely enjoy him. It's fun as hell to watch him destroy people and you get the occassional solid match out of him. He doesn't hog up a lot of tv time, either, so I don't feel like I'm being forced fed him. He's just...there.
However, I don't ever see him achieving more than the odd title shot (which he'll lose), so I don't see much lasting appeal.

I don't know, he pretty well is what he is, he kinda fills the role that they've slotted Kane in for awhile, monster who destroys lower-mid card guys, and is always a threat to the upper guys, even when he usually gets defeated. Someone you can believably slot against a champ from time to time.
So I don't mind him

The same could be said for a lot of wrestlers in the WWE.
Randy Orton has given the same promo for the past two years...he's a legend killer don't you know?
Kane.....he's just kinda there.
There's no real character development for a lot of guys. They may have different matches but, you'll always get the same 1 dimensional feeling from them.
Of course there are guys like Kennedy, MVP and Matt Hardy who always provide other aspects of their characters.

However, in the case of Kane they added tweaks to his character once in a while to freshen up the gimmick (RVD tag team, losing the mask, comedy wedding) but I'm not sure how you can do that with Umaga. He can't do a romance angle, nor will he be cutting promos all over the place (if he was a great talker they surely would have shown that by now). He's just a guy that likes to beat up people. Brock had that gimmick for a while but even he had to expand on it and start talking more.

I think expanding on his character as you're suggesting would only lessen his appeal, like if he started talking for example. But you may be right, he may not be built for the long haul.

The only way that the 'Umaga' character is going to go anywhere is to allow it to evolve. As you mentioned, there isn't anywhere further they can go.
I liked the idea of turning him face (when he tagged with Cena earlier this year) but that didn't last long. It's a pity, because he could've made quite an interesting face. Without Estrada, it's hard to do anything with him because he obviously can't talk for himself. This is why I've never understood the reasoning behind taking Armando from him.
What I would do is send him to ECW. Him and Estrada never officially split, Armando just disappeared. There, they can restart the partnership and Estrada would help Umaga take over ECW. Not only does this give ECW a new upper-midcarder they can work with, but it also provides an opportunity for Umaga to get himself over as a major force. I could never see him winning the WWE Championship, but being the ECW Champion is a role I'd like to see him in.

Some possible angles ...
Pair him with another Samoan Savage.
Kidnap Diva's for his boiling pot back in the wilderness (Face goes to save said diva)
Matt Striker could try and educate him ... (Could be pure gold with that storyline)

He needs to start talking more and aopt the character of a normal (as apposed to a real savage) guy who likes to beat people up and embraces his samoan heritage (hence his appearance).

In my opinion he's not one dimensional enough!!!!
We need more straight up villains, tophats, evil pointy mustaches, tying divas to railroads, the whole nine yards, or to be more acurate.......one yard
and that's.....the Wørd

I've always thought an angle where Umaga slowly but surely begins to understand that he's being played by McMahon and co, leading to him becoming his own man and going on the destruction spree to end all destruction spree's would be good for him. He wouldn't be a heel or a face, just this being that could and will annihilate anything he feels that it''s necessary to.

I have no idea why they switched him back to heel to begin with.
In fact, did he even TURN heel? They just sorta threw him against HHH and so now he's a heel.

Of course there are guys like Kennedy, MVP and Matt Hardy who always provide other aspects of their characters. kennedy is an egomaniac loud mouth mVP is an egomaniac loud mouth Matt Hardy is Mr. Generic, the guy is basically just a generic guy. I've seen no real character development beyond stoic dude who has women cheat on him and dances like his brother when he hears the song. As a character Matt Hardy non v.1 which was a great cartoony character in it's own right. Is boring. His wrestling is his character. Umaga is a beast, with an awesome moveset, who takes a beating, but dishes it out and keeps coming at you. Character development in wrestling is stupid. It's just wrestling these guys are this type of character what do they really need to evolve into? This isn't Rocky Balboa. I see Umaga as a guy motivated by destruction, a guy who just operates to maim and hurt people. Adding anything more to that element would be superflous and taint his already accepted big wildman character. He runs on destruction.
