it probably was a mix of everything, injury, hating Hart and not wanting to job on the biggest show of the year and maybe he was a tad sleepy and drunk...nobody knows

He's only getting equal treatment. That's all he and his buddies have ever wanted. Every wrestler gets to do that when they're burnt out and sad. Don't they? All of those guys were under contract still, WWF Champion at the time, and didn't have to put anyone over? I was not aware of that.

He's only getting equal treatment. That's all he and his buddies have ever wanted. Every wrestler gets to do that when they're burnt out and sad. Don't they? Angle lost his MIND more than his smile, and it was actually WWE giving him some time off. Of course Kurt decided he just had to keep wrestling and jumped to TNA. RVD felt he was persona non grata in WWE, and as his ego prevented him from staying in a midcard role after he blew up the big chance WWE gave him in 2006, he decided to walk away. Booker was caught in the steroid scandal and took the suspension very personal. Add that he was already thinking of retiring, before he got one last hooray as King Booker, so the decision to call it a day (for now) wasn't totally unexpected. None of those men "lost his smile" because they didn't want to job the World Title to a personal enemy and used a legit, yet probably not so deadly, injury to weasel out of the situation. Just to resurface fully fit months later.
