And I f***ing loved it. Some of the deaths were complete "WTF?!", the acting was great, and the soundtrack was perfect for the film. Austin's acting was better than I thought it would be. And the on-screen chemestry between him and Vinnie Jones was phenominal. Plus, the little Asian guy reminded me of Teddy Hart with all the flippy moves.
For those that have seen it:
Near the end, when they're playing the Highlight Reel, what the hell is the song that plays during it? Must downl...er...purchase on the internet.

I thought it was a great movie. Better than the Marine. Never saw See No Evil.

LOL, this movie seems to be the "Topic" with students at my high school. One time, I heard a student say The Condemned was, "The most violetn movie I ever saw".
Now, I've never seen The Condemned, but does it REALLY (In terms of gore) compare to George Romero's or Quentein Tarantino's works?

No in the fact that there isn't as much blood and gore as in a Romero or Tarantino, but yes in the fact that the way the violence is portrayed, it's one of those things that seems way too real. The scene with Vinnie and the Latina is unbelieveably deep and brutal, and in a more realistic way, it's worse than a Romero or Tarantino gore scene. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if something like this is actually attempted sometime in the next 10-15 years.

It's actually a pretty fun movie. Of course it won't win any awards but it wasn't meant to, it was done for fun and it delivered. Heck, I'd put it ahead of half the stuff that comes out nowadays (though it probably ain't saying much ). Santino making fun of it was gold, though.

If that scene was "deep and brutal", you need to seriously see some more movies. I enjoyed the Condemned. It was entertaining. It did it's part. It wasn't supposed to change the face of motion picture or even change the face of a genre. It was a nice plot that was inspired by many movies and obviously borrowed from those films. I'm someone whose able to take a movie for what it was made to be. The Condemned was made to be a fun action movie that had some "serious" parts, some "funny" parts, just a fun movie to go to with a bunch of friends. To say it pushed the envelope on being violent, disturbing, emotional, etc...come on now. The movie did nothing of that sort.

You're talking violence in movies and chose Tarantino over Peter Jackson? ...wha?

My honest judgement i was expecting a movie along the lines of logans run, the running man. fortress, slashers, battle royale. with the whole exploding neck peice etc. I however thought it was just really poorly done and could only hack half of it

I thought it was a decent American version of Battle Royale. Nothing really more than that, but they did push it a bit with the rape stuff. However, having seen the uncut version of reanimator which has a decapitated zombie head also participating in some rape activities, i wouldnt say it went as far as can be.
